She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, IL and her Master of Science in Clinical Science from the University of Colorado, Aurora, CO. After pharmacy school, Dr. Liko completed a post-graduate pharmacy practice residency where her research project was focused on the implementation of pharmacogenomics. After this initial exposure to the clinical application of pharmacogenomics, she was interested in learning how to implement it in a larger scale. Therefore, Dr. Liko completed a fellowship in the Clinical Implementation of Pharmacogenomics at the University of Colorado where she was exposed to a systemic approach of implementing pharmacogenomics in various therapeutic areas. Ryan Nelson, PharmD; Senior Pharmacy Consultant; ARUP Laboratories Ryan Nelson is a senior pharmacy consultant at ARUP Laboratories. He received his doctorate degree in pharmacy from the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. He then completed a fellowship in personalized cancer medicine at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Nelson specializes in precision medicine, somatic pharmacogenomics, germline pharmacogenomics, and pharmacoeconomics. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Society of Human Genetics, and the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium. The Minnesota Pharmacy Foundation makes available two $750 scholarships and one $1,000 Herb & Addie Whittemore Scholarship each year to MPSA members who would be considered outstanding individuals in the field of pharmacy at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy Minneapolis and Duluth campuses. These scholarships will be awarded to students who have shown leadership and involvement in extracurricular pharmacy-related & community outreach/philanthropic activities including professional association and pharmacy interests outside pharmacy school itself.
