Patience & Self-Control.
PATIENCE: do not seek short and fast results, but steady long-term results.
Which means to accept it will take time, maybe longer than you'd like. Also that there will be unexpected hurdles along the way, which may extend the time it takes, but as long as you keep patient, your chance of not giving up reduces and your chance of success increases.
SELF-CONTROL: an obvious but difficult one to manage. There's a whole range of reasons you have the wrong food and drink, but if you can gain the control to make the right choices and portions, then it's going allow you to succeed at achieving your goal weight and staying there.
Now let me go to another level, a spiritual one if I may.
These are also fruits of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is here to help us (John 14:26). Which includes giving us a greater portion of these attributes.
But we must believe it, seek it and receive it.
Remember, you're not on your own.

I was at the F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne earlier this year with my Daughter and noticed the similarity it has to successful weight loss.
You see, when a driver goes out on track, their team gives them a strategy to win the race.
The driver will apply the strategy and provide feedback to his team on how the car is performing and they work out together how it can be improved.
The driver then heads back out with the refined settings on the car and performance is improved.

I've been reading the book of Proverbs this month and man, it has so many golden nuggets.
Each verse is straight to the point๐ฏ
This one stood out to me today (see pic below) and I totally agree with it.
All the successful people I know, seek advice in areas they wanted to succeed in.
Whether it be with their business, finances, relationships, faith, fitness or their health.
There are still some though that only seek advice in one area, but not the other.
For example, there are Men I encounter everyday that are highly successful in business from having mentors that give them guidance and advice...
Yet they don't seek advice in the other areas I just mentioned.
So they still remain lacking and unfulfilled.
My encouragement to you today.
Identify the areas you're lacking in, find someone already successful in it and "get all the advice you can" from them!

I'm going to share something a little different today
I normally share Before & After Photos of my clients but today I want to show you one from a little while ago of myself.
I wanted to share it with you to give you proof of what is possible when you follow the right method.
You see, the first photo on the left is me ๐๐ (๐๐๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ง).
It was taken in Fiji on my Honeymoon in 2006 (reluctantly by my new Wife๐).
It was when I had all the time in the world and spent 5 days per week in the gym.
The photo on the right is ๐๐ (๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ง).
It's after we had 3 Children. My kids are now 5, 9 and 11.
My gym sessions went from 5 to 2-3 sessions per week. Some weeks I was not able to get to the gym.
You've probably experienced what the new born phase was like and understand what I mean.
What I want you to notice, is not the level of muscle I had kept, but the level of leanness I was able to maintain.
I'm actually leaner AC than BC and with less exercise.
If you're wondering how I was able to do it, it came down to one thing...

By following a set of healthy habits all these years, it has allowed me to not put on any extra layers of fat, even when I have become a super busy Dad working 15 hour days, with multiple commitments, and even when I don't get to exercise all the time.

Which comment would you like to be saying, the1st or 2nd?
Unfortunately what I hear most from overweight Dads is comment 1.
They tell me they get out of puff when trying to play with their kids or...
Are so tired once they get home from work, they don't have the energy to get off the couch and end up saying "not today Son" or they just watch from the sidelines.
It's a shame because as Dads, we will never get those moments back.
This photo below is of me last weekend playing downball with my 3 kids.
It was them trying to keep up with me.
I showed them the downball skills I still had from high school.
I also played 1-on-1 basketball with my 12 yr old Son and still managed to kick his butt. He didn't take it very well.
I'm 44 and I aim to keep doing this with them until they get old enough not to want to play with me.
And then do the same with my Grandkids when they come around.
The last thing I want is regret I wasn't able to be as fully involved with my kids or for them to remember me as the unfit Dad that couldn't keep up.
I want to be the healthy role model they not only try to keep up with but to look up to.
So I'll keep looking after my health and weight to make it all possible for as long as I'm alive.

Losing weight does not have to be as hard as you think. It can actually be easy.
