I flew to Cape Town on Christmas night. Cashed in miles, hit to see if .africa had any apartments vacant, and booked the flight less than two weeks before arriving. I couldn't describe exactly what I needed at the moment, but I knew it wasn't in Newark this New Years Eve. New Years and I have a tumultuous relationship at times.

My truth is, WHERE I am is largely irrelevant, but WHO I am with is the line between joy or starting a new year depressed. I'm glad I got real with myself about this night's impact about five years back. It forced me to show up for myself, and make true effort to be around the people whose energy I wanted to most radiate going into the New Year.
2023 looked like Cape Town.

Thank you!!! Thank you for music, for new kinship, for late nights that morph into early mornings, for reciprocated care, for answers to questions, for putting the phone on airplane mode, for intentional conversations and unintentional intoxication of various forms, for writing, for clarity, for surrender. Thank you for freedom from it all for awhile. This trip has been restorative, filling, and cleansing.
I needed to be who I was with, exactly where I've been. To everyone that I engaged with this past week: Thank you for allowing me into your orbit and playing with me for awhile. I love you deep.

While working on the actual home front, for many of us that live forward facing, our websites are our digital home-base. We'll, I created my first one on Squarespace a decade ago and it's been stagnant, outside or bio and photo updates....until today!

I'm obsessed. As a manifestor, I knew it was time that my website got the overhaul it deserved. It, now, reflects me most accurately, but also where I'm going -- not just where I've been. Who I am -- not who I was. It was tricky at first, to narrow down the hyphens. And Universe knows I'll encompass more, but for me, Storyteller, Speaker, and Community Advocate leverage my backbone.

Y'all, I have A LOT of powerful content I shot in 2022, debuting in 2023 and I couldn't be more eager, proud, and centered in my journey towards full time creative. There are many ways to serve your community. Evita 3.0 is through my creative writing, producing, and storytelling prowess. Lots of greatness coming for 2023.

Americans, especially....
I need everyone to stop talking as though, and acting as though we are POST COVID. The world, at large, in fact, is not.
People are still dying. Whole countries don't have access to vaccines.

I have expats in my community who are flying back to the States, JUST TO GET VACCINATED.
India is still in shambles.
Brazil is still in shambles.
I have friends in Western Europe and Canada having issues and major delays getting vaccines. Vaccination hoarding, by countries, is a thing...so please, be mindful of what you say, and where your privilege lies. It might be tucked in your passport.
