Paul came to Adaptive after a several year long battle to save his limb that resulted in an amputation. As a #Sergeant in the #Army from 1986-1994 he was a #paratrooper with #96Delta After being in the hospital multiple times and not walking for a few years his dream was to #skydive once again if we could get him walking. Our President Dave Hewett told Paul he would walk again and that he also would do the jump with him. Unfortunately, due to a bad car accident just before the planned jump, Dave’s MD said he was grounded. Nevertheless Paul continued without him and had a fantastic time. The team at @skydivedanielson was very accommodating and professional. Events like this are what we live for as #prosthetists to get people back to what they love to do. Our entire team hope’s this video is encouraging to others that have lost a limb to see what is possible. Paul plans to jump again and hopefully Dave is cleared to join him this time!#adaptivect #Ossur #skydivedanielson #army

She says “I figured out an easy solution to make sleeves fit better on my little arm. Believe it or not, the solution is using hair scrunchies.Yes, scrunchies!!! So I thought, why not show YOU how the scrunchies keep my long sleeve in place on my little arm. It really works, and I have been doing this for years!!Yes, you can go get clothing altered, like big coats, etc. But scrunchies are WAY cheaper & work great with shirts, sweaters, and, definitely, hoodies. So try this out for yourselves.Remember to stretch out the scrunchy, as they can be tight. I’m just adding this for the moms, as your kiddos have smaller arms/elbows than me. However, with my prosthesis, I have been able to experience that freedom. As a young girl, I used to walk with a single long crutch and in turn, faced challenges like torn clothes around the armpits and the knee area, and the whole experience was cumbersome. Everything changed when I was introduced to a quality prosthesis. This new journey has unlocked a world of possibilities, allowing me to joyfully participate in activities like ziplining, giant swing, sky cycling and even driving.
