Well have you ever had a day when the world is just not co-operating. I have discovered that when you have a day like this all you need to do is focus on the positive. Focus on all the things that are going right in your life, your home, your dog (in my case), your family, your friends, that you had a good breakfast. Today I am trying once again on doing a video, and once again posting my menu on this page, and it just is not working. As my Amma always told me, try, try and try again until you succeed.

Here is something for your to think about. To eliminate one pound in a week you need to eliminate 3500 calories and that breaks down to 500 calories in a day. What are your plans to eliminate 500 calories daily? Remember to keep your goals realistic, so if you want to shed 2 pounds in a week, you need to eliminate 1000 calories per day. That means cutting down on calorie consumption, more fiber, no sugar, more water, and more exercise. So how much exercise should you strive for to get physically fit? As per my classes at Western University, London, ON. you should have 150 mins. of physical activity per week. You need 10,000 steps daily to be heart healthy. Let's start getting counting down your 150 mins. by Walking with Sandra on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 10:30 AM on Radeski here in Trenton. Watch for the sign.

Grand Opening is May 16. Let's talk about the Walking Program. If you want to become fit, and want to shed pounds, you need to step to a tune with at least 144 Beats Per Min. What your fitness level becomes with the program depends on your metabolism, everyone is different. At this walking class, you will walk a mile in 15 mins., you will work on creating those abs, you will do some deep breathing, you will laugh, you will have fun. If you want you can stay after class for guided meditation. If you can walk, you can do this class. There are four basic steps.

Phone calls have been made, and it is time for the rest of the day to be a bittersweet one. My little spa is closing it's doors here in Newcastle. The future is still undetermined, but I am thinking I just may take a new direction. The final day for treatments will be July 29, then it will be packed up. I hope you will call or email for a chat, try out that one treatment you thought about, or come just because it is your last chance. We can even just share a class of wine on the deck, and just chat. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you, to laugh with you, and for some we even shared a few tears. Take care and my love to all of you. Sandra

"In the end, we realize how simple life is when we accept this moment, just as it is, without pretending to be other than we are. To me this says laugh a lot, accept your body as it is...your concerns will be the same if you a 10 pounds thinner-you will stiull find fault with yourself, your anxiety will be the same. You need to make changes in your life only if it right for you, not because someone else thinks you should, society says you should--just do it for YOU.

Had a great laugh class in Whitby this am, and I learned something from the kids today. I learned to appreciate RAP. Two of the boys did their own RAP today. It was about their feelings, and how they felt after the laugh class. I actually had trouble holding back a couple of tears. They promised an encore for my next visit.

Well, here is the big news for the day....when I was the same age as three of my granddaughters I wanted to carry on with school, I picked Western, but they did not pick me. Well the joke is on them....I just completed my second course with a 92%. Gotta say, I am soooooo proud of myself. So, I think the lesson here is to follow your passion. Now I am hugging myself, with an occassional pinch just to make sure I'm not dreaming.

There is something new on the horizon. I spent the past two weekends studying with Western University to get my Fitness Instructor Certification. For the past two weekends it has been exercise, after extercise and some more for good measure. Did really, really, good at the pre-exam session. Next step is practice, practice and more practice, then I do my practicle exam. I am soooo excited.

Had a great class at the Retirement home today, Used what I learned from class last week, and they loved it. My seniors were more engaged, and gave me a list of music for the next session.

This is Stan sneaking onto Sandra's f/b.. I got to be the test project again for a new massage treatment coming to the Spa.. Cupping..Had a stressful day, and the massage was waiting when I got home. Gotta say, I thought her other massages were relaxing, but this new cupping thing is even more relaxing.. She is now planning on doing some reflexology/cupping on my feet.. If it is anything like what I got on my face.. I'm sleeping today..
