just a friendly reminder:

New moon of lammas… 🌑🌾

Spent in fields of red clover and yarrow.
Spent remembering the ways I used to weave through the seasons,
with the seasons.
Spent holding space for transformation.
Reflecting on my changing ways and letting go of the map I drew for myself.
Understanding and trusting it’s all part of it.
The change.
I feel the stir in me like the slowing river,
Like the lower light in the mornings…
The start of the harvest and the slow inevitable turn inwards…
Like a calling to home…
The roll into the earth and
the setting sun is the medicine needed.
But for now,
A little more time to pick and pluck,
In this golden hue.
A little more buzzing of bees, and hymns of the songbirds.
A little more wind in the trees and baths in the cold river streams…
A slow and steady August,
Till the berries ripen and are ready for the taking…

Reacquainting myself with an old friend.
An old muse.
An old past time.
A book mark to old
stories told under the high summer suns
while the butterflies twirled and glided about.
Under big creaking pines, and even under the rolling thunder.
Spirits of wisdom and flowers of mighty white.
Yarrow is the keeper. Of my soul, of my mind and of my heart. ✨🌿

July.. High high July….
be gentle with me.
Bloom your flowers a little longer…
Roll your thunder a little deeper..
Give me your clearest skies at night,
so I can see him sparkle up there.
Some days I wish you’d last forever, but your smell is different now,
There is a bitterness and heartache in the air. Cradle me in your winds, my eyes will cry still.
But my heart starts to flutter again,
with every step through your green rollin hills…

“Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean —
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,

——

I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”

Please help us in welcoming this rad human to the TWS team! Introducing Roma!!! Roma is a kind, charismatic herb nerd (like us) with a passion for wild crafting, herbalism, and has strong connection to the outdoors! Roma dislikes good shows with bad endings and having the hiccups. She’s also not a huge fan of worms, 💁🏻‍♀️ (sorry worms) But, She loves crows, breakfast for dinner and good coffee on the porch! Being of Dutch heritage, She’s got a good ear for the language but don’t ask her to speak it- 😜! You will find Roma working the shop every Sunday this summer with the occasional Wednesday here and there. We are so pumped to welcome her not only to the TWS family but the community that is all of you!
Rock & Roll lady!
Wooooo hooooooo! 🫶🏼✨🫶🏼

I Found the highest hill in hopes of feeling closer to you.
I lay your blanket down in hopes to feel
your embrace one last time.
I listen to the ground in hopes of hearing
your heart beat once more.
And Instead,
I crumbled.
I crumbled like a mountain under the weight of this greif.
I let it consume me fully
like the snow does this hill every winter.
Like a River rushing the bank in a spring flood.
I surrendered to all of it. I gave myself to it.
Like an offering of trade, but still
I felt all of it. I felt all of you.
You are not above me nor below me,
but rather you are in me
and all around me.
The Buddhist say it takes 49 days
for the soul to transition from this world to the next,
to light a candle for those 49 days
to help light their way.
I light this candle for you, and for these coming days.
As you wander and weave
your way through the plains of the ethereal vastness,
I will light your way as you did for me….
All these years.
You are eternal. You are everything.
You, are forever.

If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy,
don’t hesitate.
Give in to it.
There are plenty
of lives and whole towns destroyed or about
to be.
We are not wise, and not very often
kind.
And much can never be redeemed.
Still, life has some possibility left.
Perhaps this
is its way of fighting back, that sometimes
something happens better than all the riches
or power in the world.
It could be anything,
but very likely you notice it in the instant
when love begins.
Anyway, that’s often the case.
Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid
of its plenty.
Joy is not made to be a crumb.
-Mary Oliver
Over here, leaning into that joy. ✨🌿✨

…surrending to the here and now… while being held by the land. With offerings that support the mind, body and most importantly the spirit. Leaning into the the care, grace, wisdom, and tenderness of the wild rose has been my most loved practice as of late. In moments of despair, greife, joy, and solitude… this one has been there. A special ode to this fine being… 🫶🏼✨🌸

Soaking up what it means to be human.
What it feels like to smell the flowers. What it is to feel the sun.
What it feels like to lay back, to let go, to ground.
From the unknown roads leading to unknown places.
Unknown answers to all the million questions. Surrendering to whatever comes up, whatever is present…
Asking the wind for forgiveness as I welcome it to
blow around me and through me….
Seeing all me.
Uncovering a new path now I must walk, with unknown rocks and a ticking clock..
Leaning into things that feel safe,
that like home.
Person. River. Flower. Sun. Sky.
Just so I can breathe enough to tend and mend and my grief I will hone…

Moment by moment. Wave of after wave of emotion.
Deep breaths and constant gratitude are on repeat for me these days.
Really surrendering to everything that is fully out of my control, and really leaning into what it means to “trust the process”… Life is full of beauty, and magical moments that light your heart up. Life also has ways of winding you. Of knocking you to the ground and shaking up your reality. We actually can’t have one without the other. And this is the process I’m trusting. The process I’m believing in. Sometimes we will never know why one thing happens and another doesn’t. We will never have all the answers that would mend a grieving heart. We’re not meant to. The medicine is in the pain. And that experience will always be a catalyst for growth…. Some say the deeper the pain, the deeper the purpose, deeper the growth. All I know and wish to keep is an ever expanding heart… to hold the greif, the sadness, and the pain, so that in turn it will have all the capacity for all the love, joy, and gratitude. Both to give and receive, and so the cycle may begin again… ✨

02/06/2024

It’s going to be the season of porch sittin… music strumming, tea sippin, voices singin, fire crackling, babies laughin, dogs a howlin’…
Really leaning into the charm of this space and everything it’s brought to my life. So grateful to be able to share it with folk near and far! Here’s to another go around! ✨🤠🏔️

🌸🌝🌸
Flower moon! Wise one! The greeter! The bringer of flowers. A joyous time when spring flowers flood the landscape with vibrancy and spirit (not always in Alberta) none the less, I celebrate her just the same.
This moon holds for me so much in the realms of the heart, and the tenderness that is needed with one self as we brush off the cobwebs. This moon holds the spirit of blooming, transformation and growth. To pay attention to how we are rooted and how we stretch out in to the world with all of our own unique beauties. The connection to my heart space, tenderness of my dreams and my deepest inspirations are nourished by this this moon. I am grateful to sit beneath her and share with her my hopes and desires. I dance beneath her in celebration of growth and grace. I may lay beneath her and invite her to my wildest of dreams. This flower moon is my teacher, my friend, my spirit. 🌸🌕🌸

Good deep breaths of fresh damp air.
The spring Rains roll through the valleys and over the hills.
Nourishing the dry, brittle soils and grasses.
My heart fills with gratitude as I feel washed of many griefs…
The vibrancy of life is all around and yet, it is the most delicate of all gifts.
My love for these places transcends time and space as I feel the deepest of roots grounding me in awe, as I wander through the seasons.
Our time here is so fleeting and we are blessed to be surrounded with the miracle of it all daily.
I’m Taking notes of the feeling of cold wet stones leaving my hand to skip across the river.
I’m remembering as I stand in the soft, sponginess of fresh moss with my bare feet.
I’m Breathing the crisp, clean, coolness of the air.
And whispering thank you.
I’m Listening to soft winds blow between the creeking pines, and smiling.
Moments like these I am over joyed with excitement and am grateful to become witness to the very present and the abundance of magic…

We Are All Connected....

The Wild Stuff is here to share, explore, and practice traditional crafts and wellness alike. Creating quality wildcrafted medicines, supplying superfood ingredients for deeper connection to self and bringing awareness to our relationships with what we put into our bodies, while helping expand self awareness and healing through wilderness connection, and through these practices, creating a global community rooted in the preservation of traditional craft and skill and sharing knowledge and stories with generations to come.

What started as a deep curiosity quickly turned into a passion. Connecting with plants and learning how herbs could help and treat me on many different levels really opened up a beautiful path that I no idea lay before me. Finding a self awareness so deep within me through being outdoors, walking with nature and breathing with the seasons, I started to understand the relationships and the importance of spirit and connection to the earth. Like many peoples before us, they too embodied this connection and was one with it. Connecting with more like minded folk, mentors, dream work, and divine guidance really helped concrete what it is I was meant to be doing. Helping share this divine knowledge, how people can connect and show people the true benefits of connecting with nature, not only through medicines but foods as well, as they go hand in hand. Food is Medicine.

Just recently have we expanded our experience in to the use of herbs and plants as super foods. Implementing them into our daily routines, researching, feeling the effects while being guided, I, personally noticed an unremarkable positive transformation just not in how we feel, but how we think and experience the world around us. Ingesting just that of what the earth medicine can give us, helps root us and connect us back to the circle. And you can absolutely feel this on a cellular level. Having such positive effects on my life through the use of super foods in elixirs and cooking, I knew I wanted to share this with our followers and supporters of The Wild Stuff. Deepening their connection to the earth as well as themselves and their awareness around health and nourishing the body. While spending time in nature to connect, ground, and revitalize, we understood the need for this on a global level.

It was then we created The Wild Stuff ‘Goes Global’. A non profit educational organization rooted in the preservation of Traditional Crafts and skill. We travel the globe to connect with other teachers, mentors, crafters, herbalists etc. to share knowledge together and learning from one another to then passing this knowledge to the younger generations. Getting children excited about the world around them while teaching them skills to thrive in the natural world not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and ultimately spiritually. We believe when you obtain a strong self awareness at a younger age, you are then prone to better understanding within yourself and others, understanding emotions, how to manage and deal with stress, a better knowledge in how to communicate and with these acquired skills through self awareness you will ultimately make better decisions not just for you, but others as well. This then rippling through the ages to create a better world to come.

The Wild Stuff is here to learn from its peers, connect through community while sharing deep knowledge. Moving with the seasons, and honing skills of the natural world. The way nature intended it to be. Lets get back there, we are all connected.
