Wild About Animals Wednesday! 😂🙌🦍 DID YOU KNOW?! This video might not show it, but lets talk about these gentle giants of the Great Apes! Did you know that there are actually two different species of gorilla that have their own subspecies classifications? We have Western gorillas (which consists of the Western Lowland and the Cross River) and the Eastern gorillas (which consists of the Eastern Lowland and Mountain). Threatened by habitat loss and hunting, its best to conserve this species as much as possible within their natural habitat. #funfact #fyp #conservation #gorillas #africa #wildaboutanimalswednesday #worldwidewildlife
Roses are red 🌹Violets are blue 💙Do you like Dalmatian’s spots? 👀Cause we sure do! 🥳. DID YOU KNOW!: That historians can not agree on the history and origin of the Dalmatian! However, they all do agree that this breeds lineage has expanded over centuries and they still remain a beloved breed into present day. Nicknamed by the English, the English Coach Dog, the Carriage Dog, the Plum Pudding Dog, the Fire House Dog, and the Spotted Dick – the name Dalmatian was first referenced only in the 18th century.Happy Valentine’s Day! #wildaboutanimalswednesday #fyp #dogsoftiktok #happyvalentinesday #dalmatian #worldwidewildlife
Wild About Animals Wednesday ❤️🦛🤯 We’re backkkkkkkk! Welcome to the New Year with another round of animal and veterinary facts. Did you know that hippos (Hippopotamus amphilibius) are the second largest land animals on earth! Elephants being first - OF COURSE. A name deriving from the Greek words for “river horse”, these majestic beasts can open their mouths to a full 150 degrees! Although, they are not considered a part of the Big Five in Africa…Hippos are still considered one of the most dangerous land mamnals in the world.#hippo #africa #funfacts #animallover #fyp #wildaboutanimalswednesday #worldwidewildlife
Wild Abount Animal’s Wednesday 👀🤯🦙Do you know the difference between a Llama and an Alpaca?! Although they are both herd animals, there are some major differences between the two.1. Alpacas are smalller than llamas with rounder faces. 2. Alpaca’s ears are smaller and pointy compared to llama’s. 3. Alpaca’s wool is finer and thicker than llama wool. 4. In our opinion, Llamas tend to be a bit sassier and more independent with them commonly being used as guard animals for other livestock. 5. They both are very important species to the way of life in parts of South America, but for different reasons. Now let’s be honest with each other… we all thought they were the same animal 🤣 #llamavsalpaca #camelids #wildaboutanimalswednesday #fyp #worldwidewildlife #southamerica
Wild About Animal's Wednesday ☺️🦒🌍 Happy World Day to the only living relative of the giraffe... the Okapi! Dont let its black and white striped hindquarters fool you. With their large upright ears and long prehensile tongues these giraffe-like creatures are only found deep in the forest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A rare sight to see not only in the wild due to habitat loss, but in many zoos as well. So do your part to help conserve rare species such as these! HAPPY WORLD OKAPI DAY! #worldokapiday #conservation #wildaboutanimalswednesday #fyp #okapiconservationproject

Rhinos :)
Wild About Animals Wednesday! 🤯 🇿🇦 🦏
Let's talk about these real-life unicorns, the Rhino! Rhinos once roamed many areas of the world throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Unfortunately, with habitat loss and persistent poaching... very few rhinos exist outside of national parks or reserves today.
Through conservation means (albeit still debatable amongst the scientific and public community), conservationist are doing their best to protect these majestic beasts through procedures like de-horning and continued negotiation to protect their various natural habitat ranges. With some of the thickest hides in the land, horns made of the same material as our hair/fingernails, and their love for a good mud pit...it would be absolutely devastating to watch this keystone species disappear. I mean who wouldn't want to protect these real-life unicorns at all costs!

Toucan at Parque de Aves
Wild About Animals Wednesday! 🤯 🥣 🇧🇷
This ain't about the fruit loops you had this morning (no judgement), but it is about the Toucan. The most well known tropical bird from Central and South America! There are several species of birds within the toucan family and all sport the large bill we know and love. Toucan's are know to reach deep inside tree cavities, dig deeply in order to prepare their nest more appropriately, and toss fruit to one another with their beaks during courtship rituals. What a versitile tool the beak can be! Toucans are primarily frugivores (fruit-eaters) with long, narrow, and feather-like tongues that have bristle adaptations that help with moving food down their throats. A life of eating fruit and play... Kellogg knew what they were doing when they created Toucan Sam! 😂

Wild About Animals Wednesday! 🤯 ❤️ 🐽 Ya'll ever met a pig with a cool mohawk?! Well, you still won't even today sorry haha. Let me tell you about the Peccary. Both Peccaries and pigs are ungulates (hoofed mammals) within the same order as camels, hippos, deer - oh my! However, peccaries are in a completely separate family predominately found in North and South America. A farmer and conservationist without even trying. Peccaries grow their own food by planting seeds that they don't fully digest through trampling them into the ground. After doing all of that hard work, a mud wallow is 100% in their near future. As it should be, self care is important! #peccary #conservation #wildlife #ungulates #southamerica #mud #veterinarymedicine #animallover #wildaboutanimalswednesday #worldwidewildlife
Wild About Animals Wednesday! 🤯 🐢 ❤️ Welcome one of the coolest living dinosaurs around... the Alligator Snapping Turtle (Marcrochelys temminckii)! The largest species of freshwater turtle, these turtles are found exclusively within the United States. With the ability to stay still and motionless for so long waiting for there next meal while underwater algae will begin to grow on the backs of these spiny creatures. Plank game is on a whole other level! We talked about the Capybara's last week being able to hold their breath for a whole five minutes... but these guys are capable of holding their breath for 40 TO 50 MINUTES! With a bite force of over 1,000 pounds, your bones do not stand a chance against these powerful jaws! So make sure your toes aren't looking like a nice little fish next time you are swimming 😉 👌 #wildaboutanimalswednesday #alligatorsnappingturtle #chelonians #biteforce #aquatics #dinosaur #conservation #fyp #worldwidewildlife
Capybaras ❤️
Wild About Animal Wednesdays 🤭🇧🇷 🤯
Let me introduce you to a rodent of unusual size... The Capybara!
Found commonly in South America along riverbanks, near ponds, and in marshes. Africa has hippos, but the Americas have Capybaras!!! Water is life for these guys and they can stay up to almost FIVE MINUTES under water in order to hide from various predators. Could you imagine holding your breath for that long?! We can't. Not even in the slightest.
