More Magic Moments to come in 2024/25! 🌟
Pre season kicked off yesterday for Sporting Saigon FC Sporting Saigon FC the best football team in Vietnam is back at it hunting down our third SIFL league title in a row and the first ever Vietnam Super Cup 🇻🇳 🏆It’s a great honour to continue my personal professional development with this fantastic group of footballers from all over the globe 🌍 Despite various coaching offers from across the world, some incredibly desirable and some less so, ask me about them in private if you wish, I am delighted to continue as Head Coach of Sporting Saigon FC and Technical Director of Rising Star Football Academy Vietnam Rising Star Football Academy Vietnam for the season 2024/25. There were many highlights from the 23/24 season including of course the bumper silverware collection, however I was extremely proud of two academy graduates making first team debuts last season, contributing to the Division 2 league title success with the Sporting Saigon Stars(Seniors Second 11). A season captures short moments of performance over a long period of preparation. That preparation both physically and mentally often goes unseen, however this work done in silence, in the shadows is what creates the possibility to perform. This season has seen us come back from losing positions more than anytime in my coaching career. This character is unquestionably the most important attribute a team can possess. Like every great team, the game is never over and nothing is impossible. We shall overcome adversity. There is still more to come for the 23/24 season, but for now in this moment I want to celebrate the charisma and character of our group. A break from my Club Visit updates. The importance of set pieces in football has well been documented. On Saturday Night we were able to take one from the training ground and grab a crucial second goal in a tight game. There are various school’s of thought on the subject but for me it comes down to six things. Creativity Movement Execution Delivery Variation Surprise It not only leads to a goal but as can be seen from the emotion of the players, that working on a set piece and then living the successful result in a game invokes confidence and belief, two of the most important ingredients needed for success. #trainingground #setpieces #corners #belief #confidence

A fantastic team goal from front to back in a less than a minute, Mohammedan Sporting Club showing great character, resilience and integrity. 1-0 Down and down to 10 men we showed our superior conditioning and desire to draw level with a great goal from @jafar_iqbal10 and assist for @obi_moneke, with 5 more minutes we would have won the game!
