"If you know you know me.. you know I’ve been through some s*** Talk therapy is ONE of those things I would say saved my life But I found, it only helped me to a certain point. Eventually, I found myself being even harder on myself, feeling like I should know better and yet I chose to make the same mistakes over and over again. That’s when I realized that I needed to take a different approach and started learning more on healing my body somatically. I’ll never forget asking my counselor two months after my abusive relationship ended, “why am I still so messed up? Why can’t I just get over it?” Without a factual understanding of how narcissistic abuse affects the brain and body, I just felt like a weak, broken little lamb, slowly losing my grip on reality For this reason I believe, understanding the science behind how our brains and bodies work, was necessary, in addition to the somatic and spiritual work I now know I needed. Above you are watching @youkaandoit take me through A Somatic trauma-informed breath and body work session. Where he Created a safe space to guide me through releasing trauma & painful emotions. As you may have seen, I do not believe that there is only one way to heal, and I will always be a student of the healing, growth, and development of my physical body and spirit. I also believe the minute we believe to know it all, is the minute we stop learning.. The minute we stop learning, is the minute we stop growing.. And, when we stop growing… we start dying 💔 If you are currently suffering, feel lost… broken… I want you to know that you can start to heal yourself at any point.
