Remember Jarod (now known as Otis)? Picked up as a stray in Bethlehem Twp, PA on 09/07/2023. Severe flea infestation, massive secondary skin infection, ear infections. Bethlehem Twp Police were awesome with him. BOAD paid for emergency vet care and followed up with vaccinations and were able to get him into The Sanctuary at Haafsville because a wonderful foster stepped up. His skin is finally starting to show improvement as they did skin scrapes and he has yeast infection on skin and in ears. But look at him now!! We’ll try to get more videos and pics uploaded but FB is being a pill
Hank!!! On his way in to start his hydrotherapy! And this is 10 weeks post op (11/08/2022) on his left hind leg! His right leg/knee was done 05/20/2022! He’s built up a tiny bit of muscle mass in that RH leg too!
Hank!!!! ❤️💕 Hank had his MPL and TPLO surgeries on his left hind leg on Tuesday, 11/08/2022 by the extraordinary Dr Galindo. They had Hank up and walking, using the left hind leg the next day! This is Hank this morning after arriving home. You can still donate to help offset the surgeries. So far, we had donations of $1,020 which we did pay to the surgeon’s office. Hank is estimated at 8-8.5 years old and this is the first time in his life that he will be able to walk normally. His fused knees were congenital. His need for TPLO surgery in both hind legs was not! Thank you everyone!
UPDATE: 11/10/2022 - 9:45am - Hank is doing well! They already started physical therapy and got him to stand on that leg and walk. That's huge because he is sooooo stubborn! And....last night he actually stood up by himself because he had to go out to potty! He doesn't want to eat yet but that's understandable and that will change. UPDATE: 11/08/2022- 6:52pm - Dr Galindo just spoke with Kayla. He said this round of surgeries were a challenge but Hank is good! Kayla will speak with Dr G in depth tomorrow and we will update. A huge shout out to Dr G and his staff! It's been yet another a long surgical day for his office! We are still short by $4,995 for this round of surgeries for Hank. Please continue sharing, caring, and donating. Thank you everyone! <3 UPDATE: 11/08/2022 - 8:15am - Hank arrived for his last round of surgeries. He is in the super awesome hands of Dr Galindo now. BOAD was able to pay $900 towards the bill. This leaves a balance of $5,000 which has to be paid by Friday. You can still donate to the FB fundraiser or thru PayPal or Venmo. Please keep Hank and Kayla in your thoughts. UPDATE: 11/04/2022 - Hank is in danger of not being able to get his last round of surgeries on 11/08/2022. Surgeries, recheck, xrays, cold laser therapy, massage therapy, etc will be $5900. We have $754 towards this. $2800 must be put down the morning of surgery and the balance of $3100 is due the next day. Hank's left hind leg is very unstable at this point. Without the MPL and TPLO surgeries on 11/08/2022 he runs the risk of losing that leg if the leg collapses or if he falls and suffers more injuries to it. It also puts his right hind leg at risk. Hank sat for a very long time in a shelter with Lyme Disease, fused knees, torn cruciates in both knees, he needed dental care, skin infection, but they did treat his ear infections (he still gets ear issues). ALL of those issues have now been addressed including a change in his food which cleared up his skin within a

And…..Hank is using his R leg that he had surgeries on!! He’s been using it for a week now!! Great job Hanky!! Soon he will get surgeries on the other leg. Stay tuned for a public fundraiser which is in the planning stages for Hank’s next surgeries!
Hank dreaming about the day that both his legs are pain free and all the things that he’ll be able to do! And he’s also pretty happy cuz he got a new ortho bed tonight. Seems that today, on his first day alone, while Mama was at work…he shredded his ortho bed. Oopsie!
05/25/2022 - 8:15pm. The bones in the knee were fused. And probably like that since birth. The knee and torn cruciate couldn’t have been any worse. It was really really bad. Took Dr Galindo almost an hour and a half to unfuse the bones in the knee. Then he had to reconstruct the knee and then do the TPLO surgery. He’s very happy with how the surgery went. Hank was in recovery and sleeping peacefully. He will probably stay 2 nights just to be sure his pain is under control. In 8-10 weeks Hank gets the same surgeries on his left knee and cruciate. Three months later, for the first time in his life, he will be able to freely run and be free of pain! Probably his whole life with fused knees. Over 20 months with the pain of untreated torn cruciate in both hind legs. We got you Hank, we got you. We are soooo proud of Hank. We are also soooo proud of his Mama. Not once did she ever think of giving up on him once she found out after adopting him about all his medical needs. 05/25/2022 - Hank is going into surgery late this afternoon. There is a bit of bad news..... The legs and knees are a total mess. A. Total. Mess. Dr Galindo will only be doing TPLO on the R leg AND Hank needs total knee reconstruction of BOTH knees. He cannot do bilateral TPLO and total knee reconstruction at the same time because he feels that Hank will not make it through. Prognosis for full recovery on the R knee and cruciate is very good and because the R leg and knee are worse than the L he will be doing TWO surgeries on the R leg/knee today. Recovery period will be 3 months. Hank's L cruciate is bad and so is the L knee which also needs total reconstruction but he thinks it may hold up through the 3 month recovery period on the R TPLO and knee reconstruction. If, during the recovery period of this first surgery there is an issue with the L cruciate and L knee than Hank will have the 2nd surgery sooner. As of right now, Hank will have his 2nd surgery doing the TPLO and MPL (total knee reco
Remember Ursula? She had TPLO surgery with the fabulous Dr Galindo at Galindo Veterinary Surgery and Orthopaedics on 04/07/2022. She goes next week for her next post-op recheck and she’s been doing exceptionally well! Ursula and her family are forever grateful for your support and donations which made this surgical procedure possible!
