"My first keen interest in the skies above was crystallized during my time at the Venezuelan military boarding school, Captain Pedro Maria Ochoa Morales. I entered this institution at the age of twelve and spent the entirety of my secondary education there, enduring five years until I graduated from high school. 250 of us entered and 41 of us graduated five years later. My experiences during this period were marked by a blend of rigorous discipline and profound personal reflection, ultimately shaping my lifelong fascination with the firmament and what lies beyond its apparent migrating dome above our heads.
Life at the military boarding school was grueling, defined by degrading acts, inhumane treatment, and relentless hazing. One particularly harsh punishment, known as Serenata Viajera (traveling serenade), involved standing at attention in the middle of a large patio or drill pad from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., without respite. I lost count of the times I was subjected to this ordeal. The experience was not only physically exhausting but also mentally and emotionally taxing, forcing me into a state of forced stillness. It was during these long, silent nights that my mind and soul embarked on journeys far beyond the confines of the school."
A Skyward Journey: Reflections from Venezuelan Military Boarding School My first keen interest in the skies above was crystallized during my time at the Venezuelan military boarding school, Captain Pedro Maria…
In the pursuit of a sustainable future, GaiaVerse Ltd. emerges as a beacon of hope, driven by a profound commitment to leveraging technology for environmental stewardship. As a celestial steward deeply entrenched in the mission to heal our planet, I’ve co-founded GaiaVerse, which represents a convergence of purpose and innovation.
About GaiaVerse:
GaiaVerse is more than a company; it's a movement toward environmental restoration and true sustainability. At its core lies a profound belief in the power of decision intelligence to effect meaningful change. Decision intelligence, as we see it, is the art of using data and information to shape choices that maximize positive outcomes. Our mission is clear: to specifically and uniquely empower individuals and organizations measurably dedicated to the stewardship of our planet, Gaia.
The Inspiration Behind GaiaVerse:
My journey towards co-founding GaiaVerse was born out of a deep-seated concern for the state of our planet. I am deeply honored to announce my appointment to the editorial board of Cureus Journal of Engineering, a beacon of openness and inclusivity within the esteemed Springer Nature family. As a celestial steward, educator, and tireless advocate for knowledge ubiquity, this opportunity resonates profoundly with my mission to break down barriers to information access.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles of my own students as they navigate the labyrinthine pathways of academic research. Too often, they find themselves thwarted by the very systems designed to facilitate their intellectual growth. The stark reality of asymmetrically hoarded knowledge across humanity is a glaring reminder of the systemic prejudices that persist within our global community.
Every day, I engage with passionate individuals from all corners of the globe, each with a burning desire to learn, to innovate, and to confront the wicked problems of our time. Yet, far too many are ensnared in a web of institutionalized exclusivity, their voices muted by a system that favors privilege over potential.
I stand as a steadfast champion for those who have been silenced by the status quo. I envision a world where knowledge flows freely, unrestricted by artificial barriers or arbitrary gatekeepers. The mission of Cureus Journal of Engineering aligns seamlessly with this vision, offering a platform where ideas can flourish and innovations can take root, regardless of geography or background.
Every single person deserves access to knowledge and information and the opportunity to have their voice heard.
My appointment to the editorial board symbolizes not just a personal achievement, but a collective step towards a more equitable and inclusive future for all seekers of knowledge, humanity's true scientists and engineers. Together, we have the power to dismantle the walls that divide us and forge a path towards a world where information is truly democratized.
I am with unwavering determination and a deep sense of purpose...
Insha'allah 🤝

We humans, as we know ourselves to be, will not conquer the challenges of becoming a multi-planetary or solar system species.
But, the next hominids will, if we continue our quest to explore space.
What we currently have in front of us now, should we choose to utilize it in the correct way, are technologies that blaze a trail forward for all humanity.
As AI evolves, it's an inevitability that it's becomes part of our everyday life ... if it isn't already. Next steps? A merging of humanity and technium into one.
In this month's article, I discuss the immediate future of transhumanism as I see it and the benefits of embracing such a monumental (r)evolution.

During my experience with Cool America Magazine earlier this year, I had the honor of spending some time with my brother Omar by the fireside to discuss a number of topics close to my heart.
Here, he asks me about and we discuss what we can learn from the indigenous stewards of our world.
With the chatter around how detrimental AI can be - and make no mistake, it can be just that - I believe it's also important to highlight how it's going to help us solve some of the wicked problems we've currently created.
While speaking at this year's AI for Good Global Summit for ITU, I spoke a bit on how machine learning will help us get back to more sustainable, pristine conditions.
I wanted to share the second half of my video on the D12 separately so as to highlight AIAA - The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics's almighty efforts to bring the selectees to Las Vegas this year.
Also, I wanted to shed a bit of light on the behind-the-scenes work my team and I are doing to work closely with other organizations to bring all of the D12 cohorts' dreams to fruition.
