Today we have Caldo Verde!

This soup, drawing on the simplicity and flavors of Portuguese cooking, provides all that plus a bright punch of color and flavor. Quickly prepared on the stovetop, slow cooker, or instant pot, this will surely make its way into your Spring rotation. It can also be made vegan by substituting sh*take mushrooms for the sausage pieces.

Did you know that the food you eat can impact your brain health?

🫐Berries are packed with antioxidants that combat oxidative stress and inflammation, which are linked to age-related cognitive decline.

🥑 Avocados and nuts provide healthy fats that support brain cell structure and function, improving memory and focus.

🌿 Leafy greens like spinach and kale are rich in vitamins and minerals that promote healthy brain aging.

🐟 Omega-3-rich fish like salmon offer DHA, a fatty acid essential for maintaining brain cell membranes and boosting cognitive performance.

🌟 Turmeric contains curcumin, which has powerful anti-inflammatory properties that help protect the brain from damage and support cognitive health.

Just some food for thought!

As we get to the start of another school year here is your reminder that the foundation of a child’s physical and mental wellness is built through the habits and choices made at home. 🏡

Providing balanced, nutrient-rich meals, encouraging regular physical activity, and fostering a positive relationship with food can help set your child up for success both in and out of the classroom. ✏️

Time for another success story! 🥳

Check out what this amazing WILDFITTER has to say about her journey:

“ What a program and what a coach! I started the WILDFIT program 5 weeks postpartum navigating a whole new world with a body I barely recognized. With a history of going too hard too early I was determined to get back to my old self with limited physical setbacks and wanting to give my body the time to really heal after growing and birthing a small human. What better way to do that than a food based program!

My results from WILDFIT have astounded me! I have released not only all of my pregnancy weight but more making it to my goal weight, my energy has skyrocketed even whilst keeping up with a very active growing baby boy and my outlook on what to fuel my body has been altered permanently. These 90 days have armed me with knowledge and practices that have greatly improved my life and wellbeing.”

What an amazing transformation! Help us congratulate her by commenting your favorite celebratory emoji below. 👏👏

Time for another success story! 🎉

Checkout this amazing WILDFITTER’s story:

“He released 9kg during the program, corrected his overall relationship with food, reversed type 2 Diabetes completely, and also went and climbed Mount Everest while on the program! As a child, he used to suffer from a whole constellation of Respiratory diseases: Asthma (his condition was so severe that even inhalers didn’t work on him) Eosinophilia, Bronchitis, Adenoids, he had it all. But after doing the program when he went to do the Mount Everest Trek, which is one of the hardest treks one can do because oxygen is terribly low on the climb- he completed the task without any difficulty. Today he not only feels confident and looks really sharp in his skin, but he feels a lot more in control of his body and mind now as well. His biggest breakthrough was able to train his mind.”

Our favorite day of the week, time for another WILDFIT friendly recipe! 🍲

Who doesn’t love ramen? There is nothing like a warm, comforting bowl of noodle soup to warm you up on a cold day. Ramen is a delicious, adaptable soup that has evolved from a Chinese and then a Japanese staple food, to a necessity for college students and now a trendy restaurant food.

In our version we have kept the essence of the recipe and all the flavors, we just tweaked it to be a touch more WILDFIT friendly. You can of course make it your own, but this is a wonderful and delicious place to start! A hot, satisfying meal ready in under 30 minutes? Yes please!

Swipe and save to try at home!

Combatting food guilt involves fostering a balanced relationship with food through mindfulness and awareness of hunger cues.

Avoid categorizing foods as 'good' or 'bad' and instead focus on variety and moderation. Also practicing self-compassion can be key—acknowledging that occasional indulgences are normal and part of a healthy approach to eating.

When you educate yourself about nutrition, it can help you make informed choices that can support your overall well-being without the guilt.💚

Have you heard about McDonald's new Grandma's McFlurry? It's sparking a conversation about how companies use nostalgia to sell food these days.

By tapping into memories of grandma's homemade treats and cozy family gatherings, they're not just offering a dessert; they're selling an emotional connection.

This isn't just happening at McDonald's—many brands are leveraging our fond memories to influence what we buy.

While it's comforting to feel that nostalgic pull, it's also important to consider the nutritional aspect of what we're consuming.

It’s time for another success story! 🤩

Check out what this amazing WILDFITER’S coach has to say about her journey:

“Today she has lost 7.5kgs. And as far as her nonscale victories go, she reports having solid sleep, better energy, glowing skin, thinner wrists, fingers, arms, and a flat stomach, no puffiness or inflammation on her face, better digestion and so much more. To train her brain and push her limits, and completely rest her thoughts and ideas about food were her biggest breakthroughs. Coming from a household where rice and rice-based food like idlis and dosas are a complete staple, she surprised herself day after day at how much she could change, and how she could even thrive in that change!”

Is it possible that eating the right kinds of foods often enough can protect us from the sun? ☀️

Well, no but it can’t hurt to have extra protection! Plants have their own built-in protection against the damaging effects of the sun. When you eat foods derived from these plants, you consume protective compounds known as phytonutrients.

These phytonutrients such as carotenoids, flavonoids, flavanols help boost your skin’s natural ability to protect itself by stimulating the synthesis of melanin and by chasing away free radicals caused by UV rays and and many other environmental toxins.

So why not combine them into one delicious dish? Perfect for any potluck or BBQ this summer, meet the Sunscreen Salad!🤩

Did you know that alcohol is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)? 😧

Understanding the risks associated with alcohol consumption can empower us to make healthier choices for a longer, healthier life. Because why wouldn’t you want to know exactly what it is you are putting into your body?

The Evolution Gap is a 'gap' that has opened between our painfully slow genetic evolution and the accelerating pace of innovation. It is largely responsible for the prolific levels of chronic disease and may even be responsible for the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Consider Type II diabetes, which causes untold suffering and costs the American people over $400 billion per year and the UK government £1.5 million per hour. This illness illustrates the Evolution Gap as a discord between modern food production and distribution and our own outmoded digestion and energy management systems.

While Gap-caused chronic diseases inflict significant personal suffering, and impose a heavy burden on the global economy, their implications extend beyond individual health and financial costs. They can also pose a danger to our collective health, and even our survival.

Compromised populations — including those suffering lifestyle diseases that have resulted from the Evolution Gap — were unwitting targets at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2020, I uploaded a video suggesting that in addition to measures that health organizations were recommending people take, it was important to focus on personal health, since strengthening the immune system could prove vital in combating the virus. I recorded that video because I was baffled as to why none of the governments or health organizations around the world were talking about personal health and immune system support. Little did I know that my message would resonate with millions of people and become a testament to the urgent need for reform in the food production and marketing industries.
Chronic diseases brought about by the Evolution Gap weaken our collective health and make us susceptible to pandemic outbreaks. As obesity and diabetes rates continue to rise, it’s crucial to explore the role these conditions played in shaping the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact these trends may have on future pandemics.

In March 2021, I published an article that explored the relationship between obesity and COVID-19 outcomes, and I published my findings.

I analyzed the connection between obesity, diabetes, and COVID-19 mortality rates, and discovered a striking contrast between countries with obesity rates above and below 18%. In countries with obesity rates below 18% (Group A), the mortality rates due to COVID-19 were significantly lower compared to countries with higher obesity rates (Group B). This data does not provide conclusive evidence, but it should prompt governments worldwide to reevaluate their approach to combating obesity.
The divergence in COVID-19 outcomes between Group A and Group B countries suggests that maintaining an obesity rate below 18% may confer some form of innate or crude "herd immunity" against severe infection. Healthy populations with low obesity rates tended to experience COVID-19 as a relatively mild illness, akin to the flu, and were less likely to spread the virus or overwhelm healthcare systems.

The implications are substantial. Countries with obesity rates below 18% experienced mortality rates that were less than 10% of those in countries with higher obesity rates. This underscores the potential in addressing obesity as a preventive measure. It is worth considering whether reducing obesity rates could have saved millions of lives, not just during the pandemic, but even before COVID-19 emerged.
Indeed, if we could accept the principle of social responsibility as a justification for COVID-19 vaccine mandates, wouldn't it be not only fair, but also exigent, to apply this principle more broadly? It seems both just and logical to summon the collective efforts of governments and individuals alike to tackle the obesity epidemic head-on. After all, the resolution of this health crisis isn't merely a personal matter — it is a matter of public health and public responsibility.
