No- I am not switching to bikini.
No- I do not think I am wellness material.
Some of you know- most of you don’t, but at the first part of the year I had to have a surgery on my elbow.
I have not worked out upper body since the end of November- and was completely out of the gym for almost 6 weeks after my surgery.
I say all of this to say that I kinda just let myself do whatever and eat whatever for several weeks and my body just got out of whack.
I have been back in the saddle, slowly cleaning up my diet, and trying to push the weight on the stuff I can do and I finally see some light. I still have not been released to do any upper body- so legs and cardio is where it’s at currently.
I am no where near where I wanna be and have a ways to go, but I’m getting there.
I say all of this to say- it’s ok to get knocked down, I did. Just don’t let getting knocked down be a permanent placement.

I’m the only one of me-
Baby that’s the fun of being- ME💜
I was feeling myself after my quad focused leg day- then back stole the show!
Y’all look out for this silent killer this year- been watching him put in some serious work and he is killing it!
Love yourself so fiercely that when others see us- they know exactly how it should be done.
Why are we so unkind to ourselves? How do we expect to teach someone how to treat or love us- when we don’t even love ourselves?
Think about this- if you had a friend that talked to you like you talk to yourself, how long would you keep that person around? Probably not long!
Start everyday with telling yourself something positive! I am still learning to do this- but it has gotten easier and easier and I have felt better and better.
The expert was once a beginner, right?

Posing Tip:
As a general rule- the lats follow the elbows. In order to keep you from looking “closed off” and hiding the lats- more often than not, you just need to place your elbows in a different position.
The pic on the right- he still has a great physique, but his elbows are dropped behind his body and he is not standing tall, his legs are just a little too close.
The pic on the left- we had him stand up tall- pull his elbows slightly forward, and focus on keeping his feet a little further apart. These small changes gave him better lines and overall symmetry, but also made the lats show more.
A lot of times we try to squeeze and flex things we want to show off- but it cuts us off and makes us appear smaller or less aesthetically pleasing. We need to pose BIG but also pose to show off your shape.

Be proud of who you are- never ashamed of how someone else sees you. Your value doesn’t decrease just because someone doesn’t value you.
Self love is hard- I struggle all the time. I am trying to learn that you cannot pour from an empty cup. You teach others how to treat you by how you treat yourself.
The only person who can change your life is the person staring at you in the mirror.
Protect your energy at all costs- if it doesn’t serve you, cut it off. A lesson I am still learning.

Posing Tip-
Stand Tall!!
Do not bend over in any pose! Too often girls try to bend over more to “show off” glutes or hams, etc.
The problem with this bending over is it distorts your shape. You start bending over to get pop in certain muscles, but end up losing your overall shape and symmetry.
Instead of bending over- learn how to manipulate the pressure you put in certain areas of your body.
For example- want to make your glutes pop and look round in your back pose? Keep your weight on your toes, arch your back, and roll your knees out. Instant glute and ham pop- no bending over required.
Notice in EVERY pose she is standing tall with her chest up, elongating her waist.

Learning to love the skin I’m in.
It is a daily task- some days it’s super easy and others I struggle immensely.
Recently I got some advice from the amazing to wake up and tell myself good things. “You are beautiful, you are kind. You are smart, etc” I can honestly say it has made a huge difference so far.
I still feel weird doing it at times, but if you can’t be kind to yourself and say good things to yourself, how can you expect someone else to?
I urge you each to try it out, just for a week. Everyday wake up and tell yourself three things you like about yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and just do it. Watch how your days start to turn around.
Remember- your the baddest bitch there is! 💜

About 80% of the time- I literally have none. I’m super hard on myself- about everything- even s**t that doesn’t really matter.
I have struggled A LOT lately with my self image and I really can’t pin point why- but I always like to be as transparent as possible on here, so I felt like if I feel this way there are countless others that do as well.
Just know your not alone, we all struggle bc we are all human.

I like to go back and look at prior prep pics to gauge what needs the most work, what I can do better, and what I did well.
Like any good football or basketball athlete goes back and looks at game footage to see what needs work- bodybuilding is the same thing. How do you know what to improve if you never go back and look at old pics?
