5 tips to start journalling 👇 Over the last couple of years I’ve found journalling to be one of the most helpful tools for pretty much every aspect of my life: From mental and physical health, business and career decisions, nurturing relationships and self development… Just to name a few. ✍️ If you’re curious about using journalling, follow that curiosity…. It might not lead you anywhere and you might not find it helpful…. BUT for some of us, it will be one of the most useful things you ever do for yourself 🙏 Here are 5 tips to get started: 1️⃣ Start small, don’t feel pressured to write pages and pages. You might just bullet point a few things on your mind, or a couple of sentences. 2️⃣ Choose the right journal (and pen/pens 🖊️) What do you feel drawn to? Blank pages, lined paper, hard or soft cover, A4, A5, pocket sized. If privacy is important to you, maybe you use your phone notes or an app you can lock (I did this for ages… Actually before I realised it was even called journalling 😅) 3️⃣ Try a few different methods, you might like one or always choose to switch between them. Maybe you use guided journal prompts, or just allow for free writing. Maybe it’s a simple list, doodle or brainstorm. You could try diary style entries or gratitude lists. There really is no wrong way to journal…. We have 3 guided journalling sessions on the library that really are *chefs kiss* to get you started. 4️⃣Embrace the unfiltered thoughts - This is your private space, don’t worry about spelling, grammar or even making sense. Allow your thoughts to flow without judgement. Sometimes seeing a thought written down gets you to see it in a new way. 5️⃣It’s a practise! And just like any other practise…. “sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe sh*t”…. Even when you don’t feel like it or it feels pointless, try to push through a little and keep showing up…. What is “soft mobility” tho??👇💪Mobility exercises work on our ability to move through a joints full range of motion actively, with some control and strength…. 🍖 Whereas stretching lengthens muscles passively through a range of motion 🤓🍨 K, so what’s the “soft” part of “soft mobility”? 🔮It’s a lot to do with intention…. We use a soft approach moving through motions, finding our “edge” and exploring that space. We want to improve our ease of movement without straining or over working…. Story time 📖….. This was filmed in a hotel room when visiting London in December…..
