A parent from Bean’s school found me at school pickup, a month ago, and asked if I’d be willing to sew a smaller version of a Pail to collect their eggs in. And they asked if the handle color could be different than the basket color (which is SO not me - I like matchy matchy things!) But, OH. MY. WORD. 🤩 This color blocking is the most stunning thing I’ve seen!!! It’s definitely giving jumpsuit vibes, isn’t it?!
It’s a whole vibe. 🪴
You know that color match machine they have in the paint department at home improvement stores? In the world of rope dyeing, I am the color matching machine. 😆 I had a customer request this deep green/teal with subtle variations, and it took me a month of trying to get it juuuuuuust right. There was enough rope to make the Pail she requested, and I had enough leftover for one Catch All Bowl and one Ring Bowl. But there will never be a hank of rope exactly like it. That’s what I mean when I say one-of-a-kind. 🥰 Isn’t she beautiful?
It makes me smile when someone goes on the website and orders a “Lauren’s Fall Wardrobe Starter Pack”. Just add Blundstones, and you’re good to go! 😆
It’s been a cozy, rainy morning of sipping coffee, watching cartoons in bed with my little one, and working on Itty Bitty Keychains. When I set up for Common Ground Fair, I had HUNDREDS of keychains, piled high. When I packed up from the fair, I had seven keychains left. 😆 Time to start stockpiling again!
The Rope Pails that came home with me from are now listed on the website and are ready to ship! You can find them in the “One-Of-A-Kind” collection on our website!
But, why is this color combination so perfect? 😍
I love when things stack up neatly! 😍 These twenty-five Ring Bowls are headed to the other side of the United States, and I can’t wait to see what their new owner has in store for them!

I’m sewing up a stack of Valet Trays! I had a couple visit me at Common Ground Fair who were looking for Valet Trays, but I didn’t have any on the shelves. When they told me they were from Camden, I offered to sew some up and meet them for an actual trunk show, out of the trunk of my Subaru! Shop small business, y’all. Thats how you get to experience interactions like this! 🥰
I am still riding the high of . 😆 I’m thankful that for the most part, this week, I’ve been able to take it easy. I got to chase Bean and her friends around the Botanical Gardens on a field trip, I hit up some thrift stores, and last night I was able to spend an evening with my bud, Emily at The Music Hall in Portsmouth watching live.
Tomorrow, I’m sitting back down at my sewing machine to sew up web orders that came in this week! And I’ll also be listing the (few!) goodies that were left from the Fair! I’m so thankful to be easing into spooky season feeling full and happy!
Wow, just wow. I am still riding the high that is Common Ground Country Fair. Every third weekend in September, I get to trek to Unity, Maine and see the best people. I brought carloads of baskets, bowls, trays, keychains, and you all nearly purchased everything (flip to the last few photos to see what was left at the end!). Josh walked 11 miles back and forth to our car to refill my booth five times, and you just kept coming with smiles on your faces and kind things to say. I am in awe, and so very grateful. Until next year, Common Ground!
Day Three! You all came OUT these past two days to support me! The shelves are starting to look sparse, but there are still beautiful colors to be had! I’m going for a sell out Sunday today! It would be the feather in the cap of an incredible 48th annual Common Ground Fair weekend! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces today!
Yesterday was a RECORD day at Common Ground Fair for Scout + Bean! Best sales day since I’ve been doing the fair! You guys came OUT to support me! I am so grateful for you all - your enthusiasm, exuberance, and joy were so very palpable all day long yesterday! My face hurts from smiling!
That being said, Josh fully restocked my booth FIVE times yesterday, and what’s left in the booth is what’s left for day two and three! So if you had your heart set on a S+B rope basket, make a beeline for me once the gates open! Things are going FAST!
Thank you again. All of you. For your kind words. For your support. For your hugs. For showing up for me time and time again. I love you guys.
I’m here! It’s happening! Happy !!
FUN NEWS: Sprout Trays will make their debut at this weekend! And I think the best thing is that they’re going to come all pre-packaged in boxes so you can grab one and comfortably keep perusing the fair! The trays at the fair will all come in natural rope color and white thread. After this weekend, I will get the Sprout Trays listed on the website, and maybe even offer them in some bright rope colors!
This tray is the smallest of the handled trays and measures 10.5 inches at the base, 12.5 inches at the brim, and stands 3.5 inches tall!
