Easter Baskets GALORE! A big shipment of baskets already made their way to their new homes a couple weeks ago, and this carload (all the seats down, no kiddos along for the ride! 😆) is the other half of all those orders. I really hustled today to get the ornaments attached, everything packaged, and to the post office before they closed at 3:30! I have about eight more orders to fulfill for local pick up tomorrow morning, but today felt GOOD! We broke last years record, and had NINETY SEVEN baskets ordered! NINETY. SEVEN. Sound up if you need to hear the ocean tide in your earballs today. 🫶🏻 Whenever I feel overwhelmed or sad or just not quite right, I try to go to the ocean so that I can remember that there are things bigger than me. 🌊🌊🌊 The sun goes down more quickly this time of year, and I’m getting to the age where it’s starting to affect me. Growing up, I could never understand why my mother couldn’t just “snap out of it and be happy” in the fall and winter months, but now I understand. I’m starting to understand so many things about life that I didn’t when I was younger. The days go by so quickly, and you only get so many circles around the sun, and it’s so very important to spend your time and energy with the people you love most, doing the things that bring you the most joy and the most peace. I don’t remember where or how, but I acquired a small stack of antique postcards featuring different spots in Camden, Maine. Maiden’s Cliff has always held a special place in the hearts of our family, because William “Wild Bill” Barrett of Barrett’s Cove is my husband’s ancestor. The Barrett family farmed hundreds of the acres there on the shores of Lake Megunticook back at about the time this photo was taken. And now we live just a short jaunt up the road in Lincolnville. Has anyone here had the pleasure of climbing Maiden’s Cliff and seeing the cross? If not, add it to your list of hikes for this summer!
