1️⃣ Choose items of clothing that remind you of a special moment…wedding, birthday etc 👰🏻‍♀️
2️⃣ Add trinkets to your bear, glasses, brooch, badge, tie, jewellery 👓
3️⃣ Spray bear with perfume, aftershave or dab with essential oil🩷
4️⃣ Add a voice recording box, take audio from phone or record a message to your loved one. 🗣️

Baby clothes have so much detail nowadays and I was spoilt for choice with this adorable collection ⚓️

A forty year friendship & a long standing sheep related gifts exchange are represented in this gorgeous memory bear made to honour Melina. Two gorgeous traditional memory bears handcrafted from Jon’s clothing.

These have been made with a T-shirt layered under the shirt as that’s how Jon wore them.

He sounds like he was a great guy.
Jon was a folk musician who played at many Ceilidh (caylees) and folk festivals including with his own band Fanackapan. Playing squeeze box accordian guitar and singing.

Here’s a lovely commission from my archive that involved using some beautiful vintage items including a gentleman’s wool dressing & collection of old ties.
...I asked his son to tell us a little about his Dad as I know how much you love the back stories.

“The dressing gown was Dad’s for as long as I can remember. Most of the family have worn it at some point, apart from me...I never liked it...too itchy!

The navy tie was a great choice to have around the necks of the bears because all the close family members wore this tie to Dads funeral as he had a box full of the.

The ties were are all golf related. Dad was a very good golfer, playing national amateur golf for the Welsh seniors which is the navy tie.

The ties with the horse were Kent county ties of which Dad played & captained...he was also the county secretary.
The tie with UKSGA on was a UK senior golf association tie, Dad played a huge part in founding & playing for them”

A couple of chunky memory bears that celebrate the life of 89 year old Sid who sadly passed away last month.

I used two of his check shirts & some cuddly Teddy fur along with a hint of denim.

He had a life long love of boats so I also added a few nautical motifs.

Did you know that I can make any of my memory bears & keepsakes from dogs belongings❓

When Scooby was lost recently due to jaw cancer a friend of his owner asked me to make a chunky memory bear from his coats.
She told me….
“He was a big full of personality rescue dog who my friend adopted from the RSPCA
Scooby was Rottweiler/ German Shepard cross….a large dog with a personality to match”

I was sent a navy fleece coat…with burgandy edging (can you spot where I added that?).
A bright blue drying towel robe.
A puffer coat with an orange lining…this was like a sleeping bag!
And lastly a bow tie that Scooby would have worn on his collar.

I’m super pleased with the finished results…even managing to keep the plump bouncy feel of that huge puffer coat.

Losing your beloved dog is the most awful of experiences…I know…I’ve lost two elderly dogs myself.

One of the absolute hardest things to do is to dispose of their belongings…the bed they snuggled in, the blanket they slept on, their coats and fun bandanas….you feel so disloyal to them.
