Roam The Woods thinks going into the backcountry should be a fun and rewarding experience for all women. as our classroom.
Roam The Woods is a women focused backpacking company that offers one, two, and three week plus backpacking courses for women. Roam utilizes some of the most awe-inspiring and magnificent National Parks, Wilderness Areas, and trails across the U.S. This provides us with a wide range of unique environments to explore and build confidence in while becoming better wilderness stewards.
We know we have been quiet on here as of late! We are busy re tooling our Roam programming for 2015 and into 2016.
In other news we are both on new and exciting adventures Todd is the newest member of the Velocity team building wheels (yes for bikes) & diving even further into the art of wheel building. Rosie is on her way to Alaska to work for the Dallas Seavey Kennel where she will be back on a dog sled again.
We had an awesome overnight with some great ladies. Can't wait to hear all about your new adventures.

A huge congrats to Lael Wilcox who raced the Tour Divide (a 2745 mile unsupported bike packing race from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, NM) this year. Since doing last year's bike packing adventure- these adventures are near and dear to our heart. Lael crushed the current women's record finishing the race in 17 days 1 hour and 51 minutes and is also in the top of the pack of both male and female competitors. She averaged 160 miles a day! Let these amazing ladies in your world remind you what you are capable of.

Congratulations to an amazing woman, grandma, and all around bad ass. Lena just completed 109 miles through Shenandoah National Park in preparation for a 2016 AT thru-hike. She joins the awesome crew of Roam t-shirt holders and graduates of a Roam Course. Her super power? Determination!
We will hit our 80 mile marker today! Woo hoo.
We are grateful for 71 year old women that show me how to kick ass, that age is no boundary to adventure, blimp drivers and tall ship sea women, mother and daughter, affection of new friends, the opportunity to take accountability and keep promises of dreams. Thank you to my trail friends, new and old.
The first days orientation, the real fun begins when we hit the trail tomorrow. We are looking forward to backpacking with a great group of ladies.
Headed to Virginia for our two week Shenandoah backpacking course this weekend. Needless to say our two wheeled and furry friends are not happy they get left behind.
