Ann Sirenko, Registered Holistic Nutritionist
I help individuals go from exhausted, bloated and unable to lose weight to feeling confident and full of energy! Nutritionist
14 day progress on the Metabolic Balance program…what a huge difference my client had in her measurements around her upper thighs in just two weeks 😲
The Metabolic Balance program helps shed excess fat, not muscle mass, like many other programs do. This results in weight-loss that sticks and doesn’t come back on the second you “relax” some of the rules.
In fact, it is not meant to be a “strict” diet…yes there are a couple of stricter phases initially but as you achieve your goals these rules loosen up and there is sooo much more flexibility brought in.

Women who struggle with an underactive thyroid often attribute their fatigue and inability to lose weight to their thyroid but there’s typically other underlying imbalances that are actually causing these issue and medication won’t fix them.
Blood Sugar issues – Decreases cell sensitivity to Glucose and blood sugar ups and downs are very common with thyroid conditions and most often the missing piece to better energy and weight loss.
Adrenal fatigue – Your stress glands have to work extra hard if your thyroid isn’t doing its job optimally. This can result in excess weight being stored around the belly, feeling unrested upon waking up and general exhaustion (maybe with a second wind later at night?)
These issues can also be the reason for poor thyroid function OR can make it worse so it’s a bit of a vicious cycle.

Full testimonial…“I cannot say enough good things about the metabolic balance program and Ann’s support along the way.
Just to provide some context, I gained a lot of weight suddenly without making any drastic changes to my lifestyle. I was subsequently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease back in February 2023.
I joined another program in April 2023 until February 2024 and it did not help me lose weight or feel better... if anything I’d argue I was worse off (my eczema was worse than ever, and I gained an additional 10 lbs from where I was when I started)…
I was interested in working with [Ann] because she really understood me and could relate to my journey since she has Hashimoto’s herself. She suggested I sign up for the metabolic balance program.
I was skeptical at first because it was so different from anything I had heard of before.
I can now confidently say that this is the best I’ve felt since I was first diagnosed.
I lost 10 lbs of inflammation, finally started shedding body fat and thus in a way that’s HEALTHY and SUSTAINABLE.
This isn’t another diet it’s a new lifestyle that I was able to adopt with ease. I am so happy with the results so far and can’t wait to continue with this journey.
My confidence is back, I fit in clothes I haven’t worn in over a year, I show up better in all areas of my life and my relationship has drastically improved because of it.
Words cannot describe how grateful I am for her and this program. NO MORE HIDING! FINALLY SHINING! Thank you Ann
I want you to start doing these three things now to support your metabolic health for weight loss, improved energy and digestion 👇🏼
#1 Stop snacking in between meals and eat exactly 3 meals daily (yes this means don’t skip your breakfast)
#2 Take a break of 5 hours between each of these meals to allow Insulin levels to come down, access fat burn mode and give your digestive system a chance to rest
#3 Drink enough water for your body weight – calculated at 0.5oz X weight in lbs
Starting to integrate these simple rules can start to shift your body in the right direction and support a leaner body, greater energy and reduce gas and bloat.
Try these out and let me know if you feel a difference ☺
My client lost nearly 23 pounds in less then 2 months without exercise! HOW?! 👇🏼
She got a customized nutrition plan, based on over 30+ blood markers, to help regulate her metabolism and hormones.
This is what the Metabolic Balance Program is designed to do….provide a custom nutrition plan that doesn’t leave you guessing what is right for your own biochemistry, chasing the next health trend, cutting out major food groups, skipping meals or having to devote hours to the gym.
There is none of that….there are only real whole foods individually picked for you to provide the nutrients needed to reharmonize your metabolism and achieve amazing results!!!
AND it’s sustainable and something you can build a lifestyle around without the dreaded yo-yo effect.

Prior to Metabolic Balance program this client was struggling with inability to lose weight, brain fog and energy levels.
In just 1 short week of being on Metabolic Balance she wrote me the feedback you see above.
Prior to Metabolic Balance she ate fairly clean already, with a large portion of her diet consisting of whole natural foods.
Getting on a plan that was tailored to her biochemistry, based on her blood work, made a big difference not only in her weight but also overall health.

My thyroid blood work was the best it’s been in years after I reset my metabolism 😲
For optimal thyroid function we want a TSH in the range of 1-2 and mine has been lingering in the 3-4+ range over the last few years.
This past winter I was studying the become a Metabolic Balance coach with and wanted to try the program on my own body first to gain that “client experience” and become a better Coach.
I couldn’t believe the improvements I saw in my own thyroid markers after a few short weeks on the program…it truly was the best it’s been in years which really impressed me and confirmed to me that the program is great for supporting thyroid health.
I’m excited to guide more clients through this amazing program and see how their thyroid markers shift after resetting their own metabolisms using a food only approach 👐🏼
If you’d like more details on the Metabolic Balance Program and how it works please check link in my profile 💕

p.s. While TSH alone isn’t enough to assess complete thyroid function, movements in the right direction are definitely a good sign of improved thyroid function. When you combine these with positive shifts to Free T3 and Free T4, you know you are moving in the right direction 💃🏼
Want to lose weight but can’t seem to beat the CRAVINGS?! Here’s what’s happening 👇🏼
The stability of your blood sugar will determine if you have cravings AND also how much fat you store.
Most people are on a constant blood sugar rollercoaster, going a few hours until they crave another pick me up – something like coffee, a sweet or something carb heavy.
When you reach for that 2nd coffee, sweet or carb you end up perpetuating that blood sugar rollercoaster cycle.
This rollercoaster will have a negative impact on hormonal balance, your thyroid function and will make it super hard to lose weight.
How do you get off this rollercoaster and achieve more stable energy levels and lose the stubborn weight?
By regulating your blood sugar + insulin levels. We do this by changing the structure and timing of your meals.
My client recently said to me….”I can’t believe I don’t have any cravings anymore, I used to be addicted to sugar, and it’s felt effortless”.
When you get the right nutrition in place the cravings will literally disappear overnight, and the pounds will start melting off too 💃🏼
I love working with the Metabolic Balance Program since it creates a custom nutrition plan based on your blood work AND all of the meals are designed to balance blood sugar, dissipate cravings and the weight just starts coming off. It’s truly incredible!
Take a look at some of my previous posts and start implementing the 8 Rules of Metabolic Health. If you’d like to take it a step further and get your own personalized metabolic plan, please see link in profile for program details .

Here’s what to do if you’re struggling with low thyroid symptoms but your doctor tests your thyroid and says it’s normal 👇🏼
#1 Get a copy of your blood work and see which tests were run. Doctors often check TSH only (and maybe Free T4) but these tests alone are not enough to assess your thyroid health.
#2 Get a full panel of tests done to actually rule out that your thyroid isn’t behind your symptoms of unexplained fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, feeling cold and not like yourself.
Here is what to test:
TSH
Free T3 + Free T4
Anti-TPO
Antithyroglobulin
The last two test for an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s, which can destroy your thyroid over time, BUT your actual thyroid blood work may come back “normal” for many years…meanwhile you’re feeling all the symptoms as the constant “attack” on your thyroid continues and your body fights the chronic level of inflammation that is present with autoimmunity.

Rule #8 of 8 for a balanced Metabolism for weight loss + improved hormonal balance 👇🏼
“An 🍎a day keeps the doctor away”…as the saying goes eat an apple a day to keep your metabolism healthy.
Apples can support in lowering cholesterol and uric acid levels and have a high amount of fiber. No other fruit has the amount of vitamins and minerals like an 🍏
It is especially helpful to eat old varieties of apples which are rich in polyphenols which counteract impact of free-radicals. These include:
Red Delicious
Empire
McIntosh
Jonathan
Granny Smith
Royal Gala
Northern Spy
Shamrock
Grimes Golden
Idared
Jersey Mac
Paula Red
Spartan
Now that you’ve learned the 8 foundational Rules that are applied in the Metabolic Balance Program I want you to start implementing them…pick just a few or start following them all and see what a difference it makes on your waistline and how you feel.
Beyond the basic 8 Rules the Metabolic Balance Program provides a personalized meal plan to help balance your metabolism for lasting weight-loss, supporting hormonal balance, better digestion, energy levels and so much more.
The unique foods and portions are customized to you based on results of your blood work, medical history, diagnosis(s), food allergies etc.
If you’re interested in the Metabolic Balance Program please send me a DM or check out the link in profile for more details - I have 3 spots open this month!
Rule #7 of 8 for a balanced Metabolism for weight loss + improved hormonal balance 👇🏼
Drink enough water for your body weight throughout the day to support weight-loss, toxin removal and biological processes in your body.
This is a simple rule yet many people get wayyy less water than they should on a daily basis.
How much should you get?
Aim for at least ½ fl oz per lb of body weight each day i.e. 150 pounds x 0.5 = 75 oz (which would be 9.4 cups per day).
If you sweat a lot, work out or drink coffee you’ll want to drink even more 💧
Make sure to spread out your water throughout the day and add a bit of Celtic sea salt to help support mineral balance.
Stay tuned for the final rule to a healthy metabolism coming soon! Follow not to miss out 💃🏼
Rule #5 of 8 for a balanced Metabolism for weight loss + improved hormonal balance 👇🏼
Eat only one type of protein per meal and choose a different protein for each meal in one day.
I found this rule quite unique to the Metabolic Balance program and must say that it’s a very supportive rule for digestion and reducing metabolic waste in the body.
How does it work?
So let’s say you have nuts and seeds for breakfast, then chicken for lunch and beef for dinner. You’ve followed the rule.
If you had chicken for lunch and dinner you’d be breaking this rule.
You are also to only have one type of protein per meal…this means you wouldn’t mix nuts and chicken in one meal, or fish and shrimp or cheese and chicken.
Mixing proteins can lower the amount of protein that can be utilized by the human body, create metabolic waste and lead to acidity. AND it’s so much easier on digestion to eat one type of protein.
Want to know Rules #6-8? Follow to learn the final three rules! 😃
What makes the Metabolic Balance program so effective for weight loss?
#1 Foods are chosen based on your unique blood chemistry to balance your Metabolism.
#2 The foundational rules allow your Insulin levels to stay low majority of the day. When Insulin is low you can access fat burning, which can result in weight loss.
#3 The meals provided on the Metabolic Balance plan are balanced, meaning your blood sugar won’t be spiking up and down, wrecking havoc on your hormones and leading to weight gain.
#4 Lower Insulin levels = feeling satiated and having less cravings. This allows you to eat the quantities your body requires without binge eating and having out of control cravings for sweets and carbs.
#5 Lower Insulin levels help balance the production of the stress hormone Cortisol. When your Cortisol levels are chronically elevated this activates fat storage mechanisms in your body.
There are numerous other reasons why this plan is so effective at weight loss – too many to get into one post! Hopefully I have left you with enough to think about for today 😉
If you haven’t done so already follow along with my previous few posts (and upcoming ones) where I am sharing the foundational 8 Rules for a Balanced Metabolism 💃🏼
Rule #2 of 8 for a balanced Metabolism for weight loss + improved hormonal balance 👇🏼
A break of 5 hours should be taken between three meals to allow Insulin levels to lower, allowing for fat to be burned easily and for support of many hormones that Insulin influences.
When Insulin levels remain consistently high, based on types of food you’re eating and frequency of meals, it can block the production of many hormones that protect your body from inflammation and aging.
It’s important to implement meals that support stable blood sugar if applying this rule. If you eat simple carbohydrates and insufficient protein, fiber and healthy fats your blood sugar levels may dip too low if you don’t eat for that long, triggering a stress response which could actually turn on fat storage.
The Metabolic Balance Program combines results of your blood chemistry (based on your blood work) with the chemistry of foods to help support your own unique metabolism. The result is an all natural food plan to follow to support weight-loss, hormonal balance, better digestion and so much more.

Four tips to start effectively losing weight with a thyroid condition 👇🏼
#1 Implement Blood Sugar balancing meals – this means that you have a protein, healthy fat and source of fiber included with each meal. Try something like roasted chicken (protein) with a side salad or steamed veggies (fiber) plus olive oil (healthy fat).
#2 If you’ve implemented blood sugar stabilizing meals try to give your body a break between meals to digest and enter the fat burning phase. It takes time for your Insulin levels to come down after a meal. You need lower Insulin levels to access fat burning mode and if you’re eating constantly you may not be using fat as fuel.
#3 Detox your personal care and beauty products. This can feel overwhelming especially if you are new to it but start to slowly chose non-toxic brands that don’t wreck havoc on your hormones. Toxins are parked in fat cells so the more toxins you have the higher chance you have of storing fat (as a protective mechanism).
#4 Drink WATER 💦 This sounds super simple (and it is) but hydration is absolutely crucial for weight loss and overall health. Aim for 35ml per kg of body weight at minimum daily and space this out throughout the day (versus chugging it down). If you are sweating, exercising or consuming caffeine you’ll need to consume even more water!

Things you won’t find in my thyroid-friendly home 👇🏼
#1 Synthetic candles scented with fragrance – I chose 100% Soy candles scented with essential oils or Beeswax candles
#2 Air Fresheners like Febreze or conventional Bathroom Sprays – I love using an Essential Oil Diffuser when I need a little scent in the home and make my own Bathroom refresher using some Peppermint Essential Oil + Water + Dark Glass Spray bottle (combines amazing with Orange too 😍)
#3 Dry-cleaned clothes – dry cleaning is a highly toxic and chemical process and when your clothes come back into the home they are full of chemicals. If you have to dry clean something leave it outside (or in garage) for a bit to air out before bringing into the home.

Four Phases of Metabolic Balance Program to support successful weight loss + balance hormones 👇🏼
Phase 1 (2 days) – to gently prepare your body for the strict conversion phase that is to follow where your body will go through a lot of metabolic changes. This phase envolves a bowel cleanse and light eating.
Phase 2 (14+ days) – only foods based on individuals metabolic plan are to be eaten during this phase and 8 very simple rules are followed.
Phase 3 (until reach desired weight loss goal) – this is a more relaxed phase where foods not already on your list are introduced back in and you monitor if these foods agree with you. You can also incorporate a treat meal in this phase of the plan and healthy oils are introduced. The 8 simple rules continue to be followed.
Phase 4 (can be followed indefinitely) – this is the maintenance phase where you maintain your incredible results and how good you look and feel in your body. At this stage you’ve learned so much about what your body likes and dislikes and will have a clear roadmap of what to do (and of course you can now loosen up and enjoy more treats and additional foods). The 8 simple rules continue to be followed.

3 breakfast ideas to help regulate your hormones, curb cravings and help you feel full longer 👇🏼
#1 Steel cut oats with a tablespoon of almond butter (or another nut butter), high-quality protein powder mixed in, topped with a tablespoon of ground flax seed and slices of apple or berries
#2 Egg omelette with spinach, onion and red pepper topped with a few slices of avocado (can drizzle some olive oil on top too for extra blood sugar stability support)
#3 Smoothie with a scoop of your favorite high-quality protein powder, berries, ½ avocado, spinach, ½ banana and a nut based milk
What you eat in the morning will have a HUGE impact on how you’ll feel the rest of the day and how much you’ll eat and crave that day. Your breakfast sets the foundation for your blood sugar – it’ll either destabilize it or stabilize it. Destabilized blood sugar will lead to more cravings, hunger, irritability and that “hangry” feeling.
p.s. If you’re having coffee first thing in the morning make sure to only have it AFTER you’ve eaten your breakfast. Otherwise your blood sugar will be a rollercoaster the rest of the day.

One of the most common reasons women struggle with weight loss with Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s is insulin resistance. When your cells are not able to uptake glucose as efficiently it ends up being stored as fat.
A low functioning thyroid has been associated with poor blood sugar stability which can create a vicious cycle of cravings, hunger, trying to eat less yet gaining more weight.
The solution is to re-sensitize your cells to glucose and lower your Insulin levels!
How? Mainly through balanced meals combining macros in correct proportions for your unique body and implementing a few lifestyle suggestions to support the process.
Here’s one tip I want you to start implementing now 👇🏼
Have a protein rich breakfast that is lower in carbohydrates first thing in the morning (within 30-60 mins of waking up). Try a couple of eggs with half an avocado, some greens and berries.
Small changes add up to big results!

Three things that may lead to cravings that you just can’t seem to get past 👇🏼
#1 Blood Sugar imbalances – your blood sugar will go up after you eat a meal and then come down again. For many people it’ll spike high and crash too low due to the type of meals eaten and timing of meals. When blood sugar is at it’s low it will lead to uncontrollable cravings, as your body needs to get your blood sugar back up.
#2 Elevated insulin levels – much like blood sugar Insulin will also rise after your meal…how much it rises will depend on what type of meal you ate, and how frequently you eat. Whne Insulin levels remain elevated for longer periods of time you will feel more hungry and have cravings that are hard to beat.
#3 A poor Gut Microbe – if there is too many of certain “bad” bacteria on your gut that have taken over and crowded out some of the “good” guys, this can also lead to cravings and result in weight gain.
For more tips on metabolic health follow 💜
Gut inflammation is very common with thyroid conditions and can be one of the causes of stubborn weight gain that just won’t budge.
When your gut is inflamed there will be a constant state of low grade stress in the body, which will lead to chronic release of stress hormones.
Elevated stress hormones = fat storage.
And this could be one of the reasons why you haven’t been able to lose weight with Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s.
What causes gut inflammation? Here are some causes…
✔Consuming foods one is sensitive to – most commonly wheat or dairy
✔Sugar disturbs the gut microbe and can lead to inflammation
✔Poor elimination i.e. constipation (1-3 bowel movements daily is the goal)
✔Hidden infections
✔Not consuming enough Fiber
✔Eating processed foods
✔Toxic Liver leading to toxic Bile being dumped into the digestive tract (yes everything in the body is connected!)

Foundational holistic strategies I have found helpful on my Hashimoto’s healing journey 👇🏼
#1 Switching up my exercise routine to something that didn’t leave me feeling depleted and like sh*t after. With Hashimoto’s the stress glands take a hit, and while exercise is great it is a form of stress for the body. When the body is already depleted and in a chronic stress state adding in high-intensity work outs will only cause your symptoms to get worse. These days I opt for walks, yoga and low-impact Pilates style classes.
#2 Supporting my body with gentle daily detoxification…for me this looks like a glass of warm water with lemon every morning, wheatgrass juice (I use a frozen one that is super easy to mix into water – link in bio for one I use) and sometimes I will also drink herbal teas like Dandelion to give my Liver a dose of love ♥
#3 Opening up to people who are closest to me about what I am feeling and going through. In the initial years after getting diagnosed with Hashimoto’s I went through A LOT mentally, physically and emotionally and I kept most of this inside. I felt so bad on the inside that I assumed people should just “know” how I am feeling. Yet I looked fine on he outside so without me clearly communicating what was going on people closest to me couldn’t provide the support I really longed for.
#4 Building up a community of wellness-minded individuals around me who can support me on my own journey, we can bounce ideas off each other and provide encouragement when needed.
If you’re currently struggling and don’t know where to start, I encourage you to start with foundations – get outside, share openly with a friend or family member so they can support you, drink water, start prioritizing taking care of yourself and it will all unfold from there 🥰

Your thyroid is extremely nutrient dependant and deficiencies alone can cause or contribute to thyroid dysfunction.
This is why I’ve packed my FREE Thyroid Meal Plan with foods that contain these thyroid supportive nutrients 👇🏼
Zinc – Plays key role in regulating aspects of thyroid hormone synthesis and metabolism, including the conversion of T4 to more active T3.
Selenium – Powerful antioxidant that helps regulate thyroid hormone production, immune function, protects thyroid from oxidative stress and is necessary for T4 to more active T3 conversion in cells of the body. It’s been shown to reduce TSH and thyroid antibodies.
Iron – Deficiency hinders proper manufacturing of thyroid hormone. Thyroid metabolism may be altered, conversion of T4 to T3 slowed down, binding of T3 modified and circulating TSH may be increased with low levels of iron.
Omega 3s – act as an anti-inflammatory in the body and your thyroid will thank you for eating more Omega 3 rich foods.

Just because “everyone else” uses these doesn’t make these things safe. We once thought that smoking was good for us until we learned better. It doesn’t take a scientist to understand that products that are full of chemicals are not natural to our bodies and will impact our health.
Even if this doesn’t feel like something you may intuitively resonate with there is strong research to back up that many of these products disturb our hormone health.
When our hormones are out of whack we can experience troublesome periods, headaches/ migraines, weight gain that is hard to lose, fatigue, hair loss, fertility issues and all sorts of imbalances!
Using toxic products on our bodies only worsens the hormonal issues many women are experiencing today.
I encourage you to start paying attention to what you’re putting on your body as your skin is your largest organ and ABSORBS all that is put on it into your bloodstream. What do you want going into your blood?! I know we are not taught to think this way but we must start to go against the grain and do what is supportive to our bodies if we want to have better health and support the health of our future generations.
