Check out this video from Valley Park, Missouri as the tornado warned supercell moved through earlier this evening. Very eerie hearing the sirens going off with the power flickering!
Did you get any hail or wind damage at your location?
Big thanks to Christopher Dorman for sending this video in!

Pretty much all the highways are closed in western Kansas, with Interstate 70 closed from Salina to the Colorado border. Heavy snow and strong winds continue in Garden City. #kswx
Timelapse of the supercell southeast of Stratford, Texas yesterday evening. This was after it produced a cone tornado. #txwx
Isolated to scattered rain showers will be on the increase across the area by around lunchtime through the afternoon/evening hours. Some rain/snow mix to perhaps light snow will be possible from St. Louis and areas to the north by this evening/overnight. Up to 1" of snow will be possible with localized 2" not out of the question. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
Rain and thunderstorms are likely across the area later this evening into the overnight hours. No organized severe weather is expected. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
Rain will be on the increase once again this afternoon into the evening hours. Temperatures will stay rather mild with highs remaining in the 50s. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
CLOSE RANGE TORNADO AT SUNSET! Here is video of a tornado that formed just north of the town of Herington in central Kansas. After watching a landspout tornado that was the ground for several minutes to my southwest, this QLCS tornado formed right down the road from me due west and according to the distance tool in Google Maps, was only a quarter to half mile from my location so one off the closest tornado intercepts I've ever had. The short clip at the end is when I moved south a bit and was getting slammed with rear flank downdraft winds as the tornado was ongoing to my north.
One thing I have learned over the years chasing storms, you never know what you might come across traveling across America. Ran into some folks moving cattle while chasing a storm in Iowa this past Saturday. 🐄🤠
Another round of mixed precipitation, mostly in the form of sleet, is starting to move into the metro area. Check out the lightning with this wave as well! #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
Latest run of the HRRR forecast model shows rain, possibly even some storms, will be around most of the night before we see a changeover to sleet/freezing rain by late Thursday morning/early afternoon ending with snow by late afternoon/early evening. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
Latest run of the HRRR forecast model shows the mixed precipitation of snow, sleet and freezing rain slowly drifting south towards the metro area overnight into Wednesday morning. We'll likely see a lull in the action during the afternoon hours before snow ramps up by Wednesday evening/overnight into Thursday with the second wave. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx
