The use of AI in the exhibition ‘Fragments of a Panorama’

In the panoramic video projection, ‘A Road in India (2079)’, artists Murthovic and Thiruda portray a future where global cultures face extinction through a fusion of archival footage of colonial India and AI-generated imagery.

This technique reverses "worlding," a concept by post-colonial writer Gayatri Chakrabarty Spivak, which describes how colonisers reshape land into a controlled, oppressive space, altering how people view their own land.

In our exhibition booklet, you can find some of the prompts that have been fed into the AI generator by the artists to create images of these worlds. Acquire your copy at the gallery or view it on our website!
