Tiger close ups… With times where Tiger sharks would appear from all directions to curiously take a closer look and sharing eye contact which is important when in the water with the species. A closer look … Reefs are full of life but you have to look closer to find many of the hidden creatures. Where octopus are some of the hardest to spot with their ability to change colour and texture quickly. The powerhouse of fish… Never fail to enjoy being in the water with Giant Trevally providing grace and power in one. Where there were many dives with tiger sharks in all directions it’s hard not to take in moments shared with these incredible fish species as they glide past. Drifting through the algae… Recent dive spots have provided some great encounters with a number of pipefish species. Clear bright conditions making them easier to spot and sit back to watch them hunt and effortlessly drift along as a piece of seaweed to hide in plain sight, this Broadnosed pipefish blending in with the tall thin bootlace weed. Interesting to go and see the the #Spermwhale washed up off the #Welsh coast of which it’s only the second recorded in #Wales. Colleagues from ZSL Science Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme- UK strandings have completed a field necropsy - keep an eye out on their account for more details.

Checkout the shell porch… When it comes to showcasing marinelife it’s often the larger charismatic species that take all the attention. Which of course are always great to film and spend time, whether it’s local species off the #Welsh coast or over seas in warmer waters. Many of the smaller species are often overlooked but take a closer look and these are often the most interesting species to film and watch. Particularly true for goby species which have really character and do enjoy acting up to the camera. Glow in the dark sharks… May not not always be what it seems, but with the lights off in the darkness and the use of a blue light some #sharks glow.
