🗣️EXPERIMENTATION TIMEEEE🤸🏾‍♀️.I’ve been having a VEEEERY particular craving and sadly it can’t be fulfilled from just any old place. This has been on my list of things to make for faaaar too long so I finally decided F U C K it, let’s get to it 💪🏽.This is a delicacy for me as I grew up eating these Black & White Cookies when I was a little girl in Brooklyn. Now fast forward decades later it’s damn near impossible to find them vegan 😩 .So I did some research on YouTube University and created a first draft of this recipe. There was one ingredient I didn’t have but wanted to add and there’s still some tweaks I wanna do. But all in all, not bad. I’m pretty satisfied 😇 it was light and airy, with hints of lemon. J E S U S | 33 | Y E A R .Sooo my birthday was September 17th and ofc I made my own cake 🫣 second time doing that and I’m not made because I got to try two new techniques. The infamous heart shaped cake (I trimmed the sides and did some construction- no heart shaped baking pans here) 🫶🏼 and also the trendy vintage cake style. .Never have I ever did either of them so might as well do a two-for-one trail and error special 😅.So it’s an Earl Grey cake with raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla bean buttercream all around 🤍 I had the busiest/craziest week last week so luckily I already baked this baby so I needed to decorate and build. So I used what I had (aka I was too lazy to dirty a lot of dishes) and made this cutie. I kind of rushed and threw different pipping techniques on but it was sooooo good. One of my new fav flavors 😇.Is it lame to make your own cake? Asking for a friend 👀.Thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me well. That one time I was invited to do a cooking demo at the always amazing Full Circle Farm Sanctuary 🤸🏾‍♀️ . We learned how to make (my version of) Pastelón which is a traditional Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 lasagna and how to make a homemade leek vinaigrette for salads 😌 . I’ve always enjoyed doing live classes like this. Getting to interact with lovely folks, laugh, learn, explore and E A T! This was a wonderful experience and even better is all the proceeds that were raised from ticket sales to purchasing merch to extra donations- all went back to the residents 🐄🐖🐎🐐🦆🐓🦃🐏🦢 . I love teaching people new ways to make food they love or aren’t even familiar with and creating new memories with them; it’s all about community 🌱 . Sooooo… I think I need my own cooking show. The camera and I have a deeeeep connection that must be shared hehe 😎 . . . . . O M G !!! Tell me how quite literally 40 minutes before people would start arriving I noticed my glasses were dirty so I started to clean them and then B O O M they snapped in half 😭 last time that happened I was in the 6th grade.
