Some honesty.
The past few years have been some of the hardest I’ve been through yet personally. A death of what I knew to be my life.
In the ashes I felt I’d lost any confidence I had, who am I and why would anyone care?
I’m not the first or last to go through a time like this but I’d like to be open about what it has been to me.
The instruction book for life is short and abstract, the included tools non existent and, in my case, it has a few missing parts and a few extra ones too. I’m lucky to have a great family and an amazing set of friends, (one of which told me once “who we are is stored in the people who love us”), but the storm is still mine to chase.
So as I finish this new album I’m reflecting on these last few years and what I’ve learned.
1. People are mostly kind, the ones that aren’t likely need a little kindness themselves.
2. Trust. Both others and yourself. No one can do it for you but they might be able to help.
3. Consistency over quantity.
4. Tell the story you want to tell, it’s more interesting than the one you think you should tell.
5. Tell your loved ones when you’re excited about something. That way if it doesn’t turn out they know to support you.
6. You’re not perfect and you’re not meant to be. No straight lines in nature.
7. Spend slow time with the people you love. Watch the sunset, go for a walk, pluck the weeds, dip your toes. Life is short and we don’t know how long we get.
I’d like to say that’s it, I’m back and ready but that’s not how it works. I’m excited about the next chapter. This new album fills my soul and I’m excited to play live later this year. I’m committed to the journey and I appreciate you all for the support.

- moral of the story, when Venus calls, you answer. She doesn’t tend to knock a second time, rather lifts the door off its hinges.

It's been an enchanting three months since the release of 'for Venus.' For the first time in over a decade, I decided to take a break from summer touring. Instead, I dedicated myself to crafting a second album, aiming to infuse the magic of the season into the music, allowing it to soak in the essence of sunny days and rosy evenings.
If you'd like to be a part of this musical journey, I only ask you play my album during various moments of your day. The energy and passion you bring to listening is all I need to fuel this next creative adventure.

A moment of pause post this past tour has given me time to reflect and re-energize.
I feel ready for this, dedicated to the adventure, committed to the process.
I spent the past few days in Berlin wandering, writing and wringing out the last drops of every moment.
I feel very lucky to have such support behind me. A first tour out and people showed up in droves (you even sold out some shows), I ran out of vinyl after 4 shows and had to reprint shirts midway through. That sort of support is rare and I don’t take it for granted.
The next chapter is “movement”.
I’ve already started work on album 2, an online store on the way and more artistic collaborations impending.
Keep doing what your doing, it’s working. Every time you share my music with a friend or use my songs in your posts, I see it and I feel it. Each time you put my album on at a dinner party or in the car it contributes to the advance of the adventure.
More shows will be announced as summer rolls by, until then, thank you. ✨
