🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧Bakes 🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧 my grandma would be proud 😅 she’s the one who taught me how to make them 😋 Bakes are basically Barbados’ version of Jamaican fried dumplings. You can have them sweet or savoury, you can make them with cornmeal, coconut, spinach.. the list goes on. My favourite way to have them is traditionally (how they are in the pic) they’re sweet with spices. I usually eat them alone or add them to any dish that I’m eating as I would dumpling. Some people pair them with Bajan hot peppa sauce 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ (Aka my mum lol) I definitely will be sharing my recipe for them soon! Currently gathering all my recipes and stuffing them into a book📚. #SushiSeries if you know me you know how much I love my vegan sushi 🤣 so I thought instead of me continually buying it, why not create my own and have some fun? Before a chef I am first a CREATIVE. I love to create— I always have. Cooking is an holistic experience and my expression through cooking is not something that can be taught because I wasn’t taught. It’s something I was born with (purpose). I have so much fun creating food including the very beginning details which is visualisation, where I mentally create dishes in my head and organise how I’m going to execute and manifest. I also love the end of the process which is the food photography—currently struggling with poor lighting and seeing as it was my first sushi attempt, sushi is seeming more difficult to catch a good pic 😅. I will definitely be making more as I have so many more ideas (it was super hard even choosing which to execute first!)
