After 12 years of occasional bliss but mostly struggle,hustle, gind and a lot of disappointment i have finally decided to stop calling myself an actor. It was a painful moment to let it go, however it was also a huge relief. And I’m happy to say i have come to the realisation that i am more than just the identity of what i do! I matter on so many more level. And man has it taken me a long while to get there. I could write about this for ages. But that will do. I’m fine, i’m free. The most inspiring rocket hour with @litasattva thank you for a beautiful practice!🙏🏻 Baffled at how we managed to get through all of that in 1 hour! 🤪 I practiced full primary yesterday for the first time in over a year and I have to say i didn’t feel great for it… my joints and hamstrings took a bashing… and in reflection I feel I approach the sequence from a place of ego rather than breath & mental stillness. However maybe that is due to the irregularity of my dedication to it 🤭 In fact its not the first time in my life that I have caused myself harm approaching things in a dive straight in all-or-nothing approach… so voila this is the awareness that yesterday’s primary brought me. But no more random full primary for me I think, ill take @ashtanga_geek ‘s advice and practice it with a more modified approach. I love the structure the symmetry and the focus of ashtanga but my deeper love lies with the flow state and full absorption I get in a Rocket sequence. C.A.R’s Controlled articular rotations. Movement medicine- if you practice any kind of movement then these are a game changer! Thanks to @carsonclaycalhoun they have become part of my daily habit. As he says, mobility training and strength training are the same thing! If you can get stronger at your end range of motion then you’ll open up so much more stability and strength in your practice. This is on time lapse so, slow them down, much slower than you think, its not about reps its about time. 30 seconds each direction. Try to keep tension in the body but keep the movement isolated to the targeted joint. Neck (careful when tipping head back) Thoracic (upper back) Shoulder blades ( up,forward,down,back) Shoulder Elbows Wrists (important for handstands) Hips Knees Ankles Toes.
