LGM Racing and Development
Manufacturer of Shaft Mount Rocker Arm Systems and supplier of high performance racing components from many other top manufacturers.
Finally got the rocker arms done, now I just have to find the time to replace the valve springs and retainers...
Making a little progress on getting the Camaro back running after breaking #7 intake valve spring. Cleaned and inspected one of our core sets of LS3 rocker arms to install the Smith Bros bushing trunnion kit. Been running the Comp bearing kit with great success but wanted to upgrade.
Just got back from a road trip to GA. Picked this up for two reasons, first because I've wanted one ever since I sold the one I had in '94-95. And two, because it's the best cast TR you can buy, bar none, for a SBC. Will be doing some dyno testing later this year, will be interesting to see how much we gain over a good single plane.
Making chips...
First head on the 5 axis now...
One step closer to being ready for the first pair of heads of the baddest 23* heads available. Chamber on the left is the new 2.70 chamber and the one on the right is the new 3.00 chamber. Wilkes Performance CNC doing what they do best!
Found the problem, broken intake valve spring on #7 cylinder. And I'm pretty sure the 02 sensor harness is swapped between bank 1 and 2.
Now do I just replace the springs r do I pull the engine and see what else, if anything, is hurt...
Finally got it back together! All new bearings, races, clutches, steels and 3.73 ring and pinion.
If you need titanium retainers and/or locks, let us know. Machined from certified titanium right here in Alabama.
We will be adding the sizes we make currently to the website in the near future and we can do custom retainers and locks machined to your specifications.
Wilkes Performance in house custom titanium retainers with titanium valve locks for 5/16 valves.
Helping my son get a '71 CB 750 running. The slides were stuck in the carbs and wouldn't come out. Soaked them in Chem-Dip and then rinsed them off and set them in the sun to dry. Let the bodies heat up and expand slightly and the slides come right out.
New shafts made in house for Edelbrock 7709 set that we are working on this weekend.
Getting closer....
VFactor chambers done and headed to Wilkes.
Got it done, pulled the plugs on driver's side, 3 of 4 were wet. Sending the injectors out tomorrow, hopefully a good cleaning and their good to go again. If not I'll be on the the phone with FIC this week.
Maybe one day I'll learn to wear gloves but I wouldn't bet on it, lol...
Bank 1 is maxing out the short term trim pulling fuel out so it looks like a stuck injector. Running too bad to take to the shop and don't feel like loading it on the trailer so back yard repair it is. Was hoping it would fix itself sitting for two weeks bit it hasn't yet.
Getting closer to being ready to ship. Made some changes to the valves and valve job and picked up the flow, especially in the .400-500" range.
Getting ready to find out if this is 2.686" or 2.484"....
Chad is hard at work developing new chamber and valve job for us.
Making progress and some updates...
The people that say you need to replace the stub axles on a C3 Corvette at 100,000 miles aren't wrong. The passenger side axle is worn down past the snap ring groove.
Will be replacing them with the HD stub axles for the Big Block cars. They use caps instead of u-bolts to retain the universal joints on the half shafts.
One step closer to getting the VFactor 23* SBC Heads in production. still working on the programs, should be making chips in the next day or so.
The weekend started off great, Kurt went a new personal best with a 4.95 @ 141 mph and good enough for #2 after Q2. We were all feeling pretty good and thought we had finally gotten a handle on things. Then the car started slowing down even for a reason we couldn't find. Unfortunately I think we figured out the cause when the pinion support decided it was time to exit stage front.
We will assess the damage, for now we know we need a new 3rd member, driveshaft and diagonal link. We're hoping the trans isn't hurt since it just came back from being freshened up.
And the track prep was on point! I lost my left shoe twice! I've been on some really good tracks but I've never lost a shoe before.
Will be first pair down in Q4.
