Sometimes when we get off track with exercise and/or nutrition, we can harshly evaluate ourselves rather than evaluate the behavior. We all have actions or lack of actions we regret in our past. When you notice you are shamingly evaluating yourself take a compassionate pause and evaluate the behavior instead. Shame does not get you closer to creating change, self-compassion does.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. This is another reason why strength training is extremely important for women. LOVE all the positive feedback for the new dance class! This will be a BLAST! If you want something fun and different to do with your friends, this is it! RISE has new followers and I wanted to introduce myself to all our new friends. Hi! My name is Valerie and I am a certified personal trainer, certified group fitness instructor, a 200-hour yoga teacher, a Menopause Coaching Specialist, and the owner of RISE Holistic Fitness. I have been in the fitness field for over 30 years and have taught classes in Belding for over 15 years. Several years ago, I started teaching outdoor classes on my farm and also converted my grandmother's house into a studio. Recently, my son Will who is a 200-hour RYT started teaching yoga for RISE which is an absolute joy. I take a holistic approach to fitness and firmly believe a fitness journey can be a beautiful process of practicing self-love, self-compassion, and grace. You can take RISE practices in person or on Zoom. I would absolutely love to be your coach and walk beside you on your journey of well-being.
