We forgive you!
Though we encourage patrons to bring items back on time, we know life happens! That's why we forgive you and want to remind everyone that we are FINE FREE- for when life gets in the way of due dates. 😊

Our phones may be out for a few days. They are FINALLY transferring our numbers to a new service.

But don’t worry, the numbers the same. Just adding some new features.

Thank You for Your Patience

Most of these are available at our library, but others can be ordered and sent to our library. All you need is your library card!

It may be Friday the 13th, but there's nothing to be afraid of... except missing out on great horror reads from North Country libraries!

We will be CLOSED Saturday August 31st and Monday September 2nd for Labor Day Weekend

In today's drop-box was this stack! Adults like to get lost in their favorite series too. So if want to read 4,952 pages of The Outlander series in a month, like this patron did, we're here for that too!

08/21/2024

As much as we hate to say this, the Overnight Campout scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled due to not having enough families signed up for it.

We will try again next year. Possibly in July sometime and not so close to the start of the school year.

The North Country Library System is excited to announce the launch of CareKits, a regional anti-poverty initiative providing free, on-demand access to essential hygiene items. Additionally, each kit will provide information about library and community resources and will be available at all North Country libraries across Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and St. Lawrence counties.

North Country Bridges will be partnering with NCLS to promote and assess the CareKits initiative. North Country Bridges will also be offering Bridges Out of Poverty training to member library staff to better help them understand the experience of poverty and provide services to vulnerable members of our communities.

Census data shows the magnitude of the hardship faced by people in our service area, with between 12% and 16% living below the poverty line, depending on the county. A simple hygiene kit filled with personal care products can provide encouragement and hope to those in need. As public spaces, community resources, and trusted messengers, libraries are ideal distribution points for anti-poverty kits like these.

CareKits will include a drawstring backpack, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, wipes, nail clippers, comb, shampoo, soap, tissues, a basic first aid kit, ChapStick, razor, shaving cream, hand sanitizer, deodorant, tampon, pad, and laundry detergent. Also included are cold weather items: socks, a hat, gloves, neck warmer, and hand warmers.

This project is made possible with grant funding from the Northern New York Community Foundation and the Northern New York Library Network.

If you’re interested in contributing to this program, please donate funds via our PayPal button on this page, purchase supplies from our Amazon Wishlist, or contact your local library for more information.

Our first Summer Reading Champion of 2024!!

08/19/2024

This week our phone and fax system will be changing to a new system. This means that our phone and fax system will be going on and off at random times while we connect everything.
Once this is done we will have a more "professional" sounding phone system that will include options to hear our hours (and other things to be rolled out once we know how they all work).
In the meantime this means that our phone system might be temporarily unavailable. If this happens you can always message us here on FB and we will get back to you ASAP.

Thanks.

Just a reminder for the Parents:

Your kids Summer Reading Charts need to be returned when they are completed. This way they can get a new sheet to continue their process and get either a Mystery Bag or treasure from the "Prize Box"

Once your child returns 5 sheets they will get a grand prize and certificate of completion of the Summer Reading Program!

So please return the sheets as they complete them so we can track the amount of certificates that will need to be made. If they return them all at once we will not be able to have a certificate ready.

‼️ SUMMER PROGRAM ENDS SEPTEMBER 15TH ‼️

Thank You

Some of you may have gotten some incorrect information over the weekend, so allow us to clear things up:

We are currently NOT taking any more donations. After the sale (THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED US!!👍👍), we usually like to take a breath and about a month or so before we start to accept donations again.

In the meantime if you have any books that you want to donate we would suggest contacting other libraries to see if they may have any use for them, or if you’re willing to wait a while we will eventually be taking books again.

We will let everyone know when we are accepting donations again.

Thank You
