Made, Co.
The stuff people make and the stories behind it. Each piece is made with care and each maker is paid fairly and working in safe conditions.
We are all about connecting you to the makers, sharing with you quality and sustainable goods that are made by creative and talented people around the world. For us, this is all about inviting you to be intentional about what you purchase through being connected to the stories of those who are making what you buy. It is about choosing people over anything else, because the story matters.
Baskets that add something special to our homes while telling a story of dignity and hope, this is one of our favorites.
In case you didn’t know, everything we do here at made is about using our freedom to give others that same freedom, to care for our sisters and brothers the way we would want to be cared for. Every purchase with us reduces vulnerability somewhere in the world. When you support fair pay, safe working conditions, and work that honors people as precious humans— you go upstream and in many cases stop human trafficking before it can even start because you help to eliminate a massive vulnerability caused by bad jobs or no job.
So, for this fall’s book club, we are making space to learn from an incredible woman, Rachel Lloyd, who has survived the horror of human trafficking. (Side note: it is so important that the voices of survivors are given priority in this conversation). Through her book, “Girls Like Us,” she invites us into her story of survival and the founding of GEMS, New York City’s Girls Education and Mentoring Service, while also challenging us to see the vulnerabilities beneath the surface that often lead to human trafficking. Vulnerabilities that we can be a part of reducing if we see people for who they are. One review of the book said, “Lloyd’s unflinchingly honest memoir is a powerful and unforgettable story of inhuman abuse, enduring hope, and the promise of redemption.” We agree!
Find out all about it, grab your ticket, and join us this fall as we learn about how we can better advocate for others.

We 🤍 Anchal Project.
In case you might be new around here, Anchal Project is a nonprofit social enterprise that addresses the exploitation of women around the world by using design thinking to create employment opportunities, products and markets that support empowerment. Anchal means “the decorative edge of a sari used to provide comfort and protection to loved ones.”
Each piece connects you directly to her story and journey to empowerment. While each artisan has a unique story, all are empowered through the community and opportunities that Anchal’s holistic program provides.
Each ceramic lantern is made by the artisan partners of Women of the Cloud Forest in San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua. Women of the Cloud Forest comes alongside artisans and many family-owned workshops throughout Nicaragua in helping to build and grow through a variety of ways.
Each lantern is hand-thrown on a non-electric kick wheel and wood kiln-fired.
Don’t settle for beauty that fades with time. Go for the kind that is deep — offering freedom, dignity, and meaning to families all around the world.
Here’s to the plants that make us feel like we have green thumbs. 🙃
Our Story
We are all about sharing the handmade work and stories of artisans all around the world.
Connecting you to the makers — that is our heart. Sharing with you their handmade work and their stories. We choose to care about how things are made — every part of it. Where the materials come from, how artisans are paid, the conditions they are asked to work in, and so much more. We’re not into charity buys. We're into you knowing the makers, because the story matters.
