Here it is⦠and we are super pumped with the results and the final product the team here at BLG has built for Steve Sole.
He dropped his Rx2 off as a bare shell with a rebuilt motor and a handful of parts, 9 weeks later he is driving it out of our workshop.
We had the task of building the complete car in house, Design, Parts Selection and Supply, Fabrication, Wiring, Tuning. This was all made easy by using our chosen and trusted products/brands and utilising our epic teams knowledge and experience that we have within our team, not to mention having the facility and tools to do this work. Along with the added challenge to meet Steveβs own attention to detail and epic paint job he had done.
The Rx2 features our injection setup now utilising the best ITG filters, one of our matched 2.5β street exhaust systems with our Promuff mufflers, our wilwood brake kit and coilovers front and rear, booster kit, solid engine and gearbox mounts, hilux diff with rose jointed and adjustable 4 link, 4.8 shimmed lsd, our cooling package including all plumbing of the Radiator and Oil Cooler and EWP, custom made drop tank with a new designed return-less in tank cradle setup, Haltech elite 750 ecu, coils, sensors, in house loom and wiring, optima dry cell battery, all new brake lines and many many more things to complete this awesome build.
270hp at 8500rpm, 13b semi pp JC extend port, 58mm throttle body setup, BP98.
Hayden on the remote tune with another solid and reliable tune as always.
We cant wait to go cruising with Steve and his Family over the coming summer πͺπ»πͺπ»

We had Jeromes Rx3 in for a new exhaust and first startup, we fitted one of our oil coolers, our street exhaust setup to compliment the freshly rebuilt 13b bridgeport running Rx8 rotors, internal oil mods and clearancing, 48mm IDA. We managed a solid 252hp, 8300rpm making this a nice snappy setup for a street cruiser which also sounds just as awesome with our ProMuff mufflers and full Exhaust.
Joni dropped his Batty in for us to complete its first start and dyno tune, after installing and wiring in a set of Haltech IGN-1A coils and sorting through some pre start checks and first start problems we managed to get the car on the rollers to run the motor in. With Hayden on the remote tuning we managed a good reliable 370hp, 16psi boost and 8000rpm, Joni bridgeported and built the motor himself, The rest of the setup consists of a replica 35/40 turbo, none branded intercooler, stock injectors these all been the limiting factors for further gains.Tuning made easy and reliable due to the Haltech Elite 1500 plug and play ecu with its advantage of all the engine protection settings and latest Nexus firmware features to use including the new MAP Prediction. πͺπ»πͺπ»
Couple weekends back we dragged the Rx2 over to Carnival, leading up, it was a mad rush to get the new Holinger gearbox in and some quick dyno testing. Our first outing was a blast, the new setup making it fun and trouble free. We also managed to take away best sedan. ππ
We had Callums Rx7 on the dyno now with a engine refresh, bridgeport and doweling. After sorting through some electrical and voltage related problems we managed to get a nice safe tune in.With Hayden on the remote tuning we managed a solid 480hp on 17.5psi and 98 pump gas. With some bigger injectors, map sensor and some water/meth injection we can turn it up some more at a later date. πͺπ»πͺπ»
Another day on the dyno testing some changes to our R&D PP, we have meticulously designed and fabricated our 3rd exhaust system as well as a new designed rear muffler. We are super pumped with our gains of around 25hp and can now officially say our intake and exhaust testing is complete and working absolutely perfect as a combo resulting in a solid 327hp dyno run. We can now pull the engine down for internal inspection and fit the high comp rotating assembly, then back on the dyno to see the difference. Massive achievement to our team (Hayden W, Mike, Eddie and myself) and again big thanks to Hayden B for letting us use his car for testing our own motor.
Daryll dropped his super cool Mazda Sentia in for a tune, we removed the crank pulley and marked a true TDC and split for all 4 leading and trailing coils, checked coil configuration, new spark plugs and compression test. With Hayden on the remote tune together we managed a respectable 438hp on 13psi from the 13b secondary Bridgeport with increasing air temps, injectors maxed and un-dowled block being the limit for further gain. This is one tough street car πͺπ»πͺπ»
Trents stock standard Rx7 on the dyno running a plug and play ecu. Hayden on the tune managed a nice safe 270hp on 10psi, still running the factory twin turbo setup we seen the stock injectors, fuel pump and intercooler all at their maximum capacity. ππ
We had Marks Mk1 Cortina drag car running a twin turbo LS back on the Dyno for some more boost, after settling in at the track he decided to turn it up. With Hayden on the tune he managed a solid 793hp, 910ft-lb of torque on 20psi boost. With the turbos falling over stopping us pushing more. Lets see if he can crack the 8s and 150mph now πͺπ»πͺπ»
Where do we start with this one!!!! We started building Haydens rx2 for him with a 13bpp he had built and supplied us with, but after a mechanical failure of the oil setup in his motor, we pulled it down. After a few discussions it was decided to fit our own PP into his car for R&D purposes. This motor is certainly nothing special with 46mm ports and uses the FD rotating assembly from our old 13b turbo bridgeport motor in our Rx2. After many hours, days, weekends on and off the dyno, changing velocity stack heights, exhaust combinationβs, calculations with intake to exhaust sizing we have managed to get 302hp at 10,500 RPM. With all this data collected we now know how our injection throttle body setup works and matching exhaust systems to get the best mid range and peak HP. Our next lot of R&D is to pull the engine apart and fit high comp rotors to see if there is any gains back to back, then we will pull it apart again to increase port and port timing. Massive thanks to Hayden for letting us use his car as a base. *Hayden W with the remote tuning as always ππ Haltech Elite 1500 with wideband, EGTβs, and every other sensor for us to collect data.
Jerome brought his good mates DX out for a tune and to sort a few issues out, after sorting through a few things we managed a nice 218hp at 8800rpm. *13B bridgeport *48mm IDA *Microtech running ignition *Hayden on the remote tuning/support
Todds super tidy Rx7 in for a tune today, making a good 213hp best run 216hp from the 13b bridgeport and 48mm ida. A few changes to the jetting and timing we picked up a little more power, smoothed out the transition and smoother idle. π Hayden Woodhead tuning support Hayden Bak BLG Engineering
Finished the tune on Patricks super cool Capella we have been building. A nice safe 242hp from the 13b bridgeport and 48mm ida. pictures of the build process to come. Hayden Woodhead for dyno/tuning help Eddie for wiring help Hayden Bak BLG Engineering
Shauns Buick straight 8 made a nice easy 120hp on the dyno with its new extractor, exhaust and intake. Thanks to Hayden Woodhead for dyno operation and Nick Five star Mechanical for doing timing and carb adjustments.
Mike bought his corona out and we put it on the dyno, we managed to get a solid 292hp out of mikes homebuilt and ported 13b Bridgeport with a 51mm ida after spending some time changing and testing a few different things. A quick test drive confirmed this thing is very fun and a handful to drive π Again Hayden Woodhead behind the dyno and tuning.
With the dyno cell now finished we had a full day tuning some cars yesterday. Kierans escort managed a nice 212hp from the 13b bridgeport and 48mm ida. This is now going fuel injected soon. Thanks to Hayden Woodhead for tuning and dyno operation π
Kirt Smith picked his car up and with a quick test drive and a couple of 4th gear starts it wasnβt long until he was loading it up with no tyre left. The new rear end is working a treat now ππ
Yesterday Hayden and i had the rx2 back on the dyno for a tune. We have changed fuel and spent some time correctly setting some parameters in the ecu. We are super happy with 744hp as we creep up on the power but have decided to move away from a inductive coil to a CDI setup and carry on with more testing
Last start up of the rx3 before it was picked up and off to get the interior done. Lance is super happy to get his car back for xmas ππ
Lances 20b rx3 is all done and what a way to finish off the year. There has been many late nights this week finishing off the wiring, configuring the pdm, keypad and setting a base to get it running. We are super happy with the final product and cant wait to see this one out and about. Massive thanks to the team helping us get this one completed.
