"Making things that make the difference for you"
I wrote this article three years ago and I'm still amazed at how relevant it remains.. You can't beat a horse unless it's dead. No offense!
" As an herbalist of African descent, I am concerned that so much of American Herbalism is aggressively portrayed and boldly represented as almost having solely resulted from the ingenuity of exploring, invading and enslaving Western Europeans."
"......, do we really continue to naively and egotistically continue representing the complex integrated world of American Herbalism and Homeopathy as a European creation???"
What's up fam! It's been a minute since I last posted. It's been so much on the haps that I needed to take a few moments to breathe. Now I'm back in the saddle with the new post and newsletter just in time for summer. If you haven't subscribed, jump in while the water is warm. Our community is growing and I want YOU to be part of it.

What's good, people. It's been a minute since my last post. Things have certainly changed around here on Facebook. It was very different from when it started some years ago; for me, that would be back in 2009. Anyway, I've been doing great and busy. IXALT had an outstanding performance the weekend prior at First Covenant Church, Oakland, with Anastasis Ballet Company and Open Dance Studios for their Worship Arts Night. It was STELLAR. Everyone's presentations were exquisite. IXALT shared hula, a song, and an oli (chant) with narration by Joseph Washington. It was wonderful.
The weekend before, I presented on Black North American Herbalism and Foodways at the Kensington Library. We had a great time and gave samples of Ixaltednaturalbodycare&botanicals signature tea blend, 'Know Your Roots.'
I got a new blog post on LearningHerbs.com that's making quite a splash. Read here https://learningherbs.com/remedies-
And an upcoming webinar happening this week

And as a final kicker, a social media collaboration with Traditional Medicinals to highlight historical Black Herbalist on Instagram.

Man, there's no way I could've manifested all of these blessings. Only God can do that, and I thank Him.
God knows the thoughts, plans, and concerns He has toward us, which are never to harm us but to prosper, strengthen, and mature us.

Happiest of Thanksgiving Everybody!
Ideally, this day should be celebrated daily because there are so many things to be grateful for. As one person put it, "I'm doing better than I deserve". I love this statement because it underscores Grace & Mercy. Though I can't warrant Grace or Mercy, I'm grateful that God's gives it so freely. To me, Thanksgiving is a day to remind me of just that and more. This morning upon rising, I thanked God for His forgiveness. I thanked God for my husband. I thank God for my health and strength. Most of all, I thanked God for allowing to see another day. With all the upheavel going on in other parts of the world as well here in the U.S., I'm grateful for His provision and protection, both of which I cannot earn nor deserve. God is good ALL THE TIME! May the truth of this resonate with someone today and that The Lord of Heaven of Earth. The Creator of the Universe, The Great I AM loves each of every one of us.
Happy Thanksgiving!
