Give me an outdoor location and a paintbrush and I’ll paint it! In 2021 I filmed for a French documentary over three days. It was extra special. Both paintings featured have now@sold but you can view all other seascapes on my website using the link in my bio.

A framer once told me ‘ art never expires’ and it changed how I looked at sales. Whether a painting takes two minutes or two years to sell it doesn’t change how valuable that piece of art is. What a game changer for young artists entering the world of commerce and demands from galleries.

Thanks for the enquiries and bookings for my special retreat in Ballycastle April12-14th this year. I have worked with Basalt Breaks and they are wonderful. Art by me! 🙋🏽‍♀️ The tones and textures in the rooms Strand Homes Ferndene work perfectly with my paintings. If I was to be all geeky about it, the colour wheel has been put to good use.

As I scrolled to find the photos above I came across an image of my late father. As I continue into my 41st year I think of his short 47 years on Earth but how much of an impact he made when he was here. Often as artists we want to reach the masses, tick all the boxes and make ALL the work. Yesterday!

When someone close to you passes it is apparent how reaching goals and hitting milestones is not the winner, it’s the journey and the people you meet and influence along the way that counts.

My dad was a mechanic , not an artist and one of my memories of him is his oil stained hands. Tough grey tips with stubby nails. Hands that were used and put to work.

When he died in 1991 my mum says I started painting more. I liked drawing before he passed but inevitably, painting became my release. My healer..

I’m thankful I can share both my memories and my paint with you. The story of grief in my life is intertwined with my everyday artwork and my wish is that you can heal through viewing or making art as well as knowing that grief and sadness is allowed on my page… amidst the neon and laughter of course!

Oh I painted over this but remembering the clay coloured drips fondly. It was called ‘clay nail polish’. Spot the cornflour blue wash bottom left? Adding cool to the warmth of the creams and clay.
