Happy New Year!! 🎊💗🎊 Are you interested in jump starting your health in the New Year?! Join me for my January “Restart” program, which includes a 3 week sugar detox!!

Restart is a 5 week program that is all about eating real food, improving digestion, balancing blood sugar, and increasing energy.

This is a small group format, limited to 10 people per group. The beauty of that is it
provides support, accountability, and encouragement as we walk this road of improving our health.

After improving my own autoimmune symptoms that I had for over 30 years, as well as improving digestion issues I had since I was a child, I’m passionate about helping others to do the same!

For those in the WNY area, there are 2 in person groups to pick from, both are on Thursdays starting on January 11th and going until February 8th.

You can sign up for either the afternoon session which is from 12-1:30, or the evening session from 6:30-8:00.

Regular price is $325 for all 5 weeks, but I have extended the early bird discount of just $275!

You will receive the curriculum, a cookbook, as well as a food journal to help to make connections between the food you eat, your lifestyle habits, and how you feel.

There is not an online option at this time, but let me know if you would be interested in that!

Next up in my testing of healthier Christmas treats…Paleo Crinkle Cookies (AIP, grain-free, dairy-free) by

I highly recommend her recipes on a whole…and these cookies did not disappoint!!

I made them with cacao powder and I used maple sugar for the sweetener.

The texture was great! Soft like a brownie. The standout flavor was the rich dark chocolate, versus sweetness…but not too much or over powering😋

I would definitely recommend these if you are looking for a chocolate cookie that isn’t overly sweet! 👍

*UPDATE* these turned out really good!!! Consistency…flavor…and texture are all great!! 😋 My whole family liked them! 👍 I really like them too, but they were a little bit rich for me. Even so, I would make these again. I’d totally feel confident taking them to a party…and not feel like I’d have to apologize for bringing a healthier dessert 😉

Doing some “cleaner” treat testing for Christmas🎄😋🎄 I figured I’d bring you all along for the ride and keep you posted with my reviews…and my family’s too!

First up…Otto’s Grain-Free Classic Brownie Mix. I’ve never had it before, but I am encouraged so far! Few ingredients…and quick and easy to make!

It does have cane sugar, versus a more natural sugar, and it is the first ingredient in the mix (24g total carbs, 18g added sugars).

So if your focus is keeping your blood sugar in check, this may not be a top choice for you. But if your priority is a grain, dairy, and nut free option…I will keep you posted on how they taste! Stay tuned…

The “Restore Your Health” meetings are BACK!!! The next one is taking place Thursday Oct 21st at 7:00PM EST. 😁

I’m so excited to share with you the information I’ve been learning in my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program!

My personal response to all that I am learning is…”FASCINATING!!”

So much cool information, and so many proactive things we can be doing to support our health!

Steps…even small steps…are steps…and when they are proactive steps…they can move us down the path towards improved health 💗

I offer these classes for FREE…because this my purpose and passion to help people improve their health…which in the end helps people to improve their lives.

No catch…no gimmick!!

I’m just wanting to share with you the things that I have learned that have helped me to improve my personal health.

Improvement with symptoms of 3 autoimmune conditions that started back when I was 16 years old!!

I’ll save you the math…that was 35 years of living with daily autoimmune symptoms!

In my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner course we learned about the “evolution of the modern diet.”

Basically we were looking at how we got to where we are today in regards to our general food supply…

And more importantly what that role is in regard to the prevalence of chronic health issues in our society today.

I found it very interesting!!

And my main take away…

If you are struggling with a chronic health condition…

IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT!! 😉

Basically there are so many pieces in place today, that we are set up with circumstances that lead to health issues.

Don’t let that fact discourage you though!!

Knowledge is power…and empowering!!

With this information in your pocket, you can use it to make some informed choices that can lead to improved health!!

This week in my NTP class we are learning about the “basics of nutrition”...and all the nutrients available to us from whole foods

I did some quick food prep today of our
fruits and veggies.

Love seeing all the beautiful colors!!

Nothing fancy...but it definitely makes a difference to have things ready to grab and go when looking for something to eat!

It was so easy to make...and SO flavorful!! 😋

I like lots of veggies in my meals, so I did increase the quantity of those a bit, and I added some kale.

I used sweet potato noodles instead of the ramen noodles.

This one will definitely be in my regular meal rotation!! 😋💗😋💗

Pre-cut veggies are such a difference maker!!

I was feeling lazy this afternoon and was leaning toward just having a bag of plantain chips for lunch...

BUT...I pushed through...and with pre-cut veggies I had a quick lunch thrown together in 5 mins!!! 🙌🙌

Tuna mixed with some avocado and avocado oil. Added a little salt and parsley.

Pre-cut carrots, celery, jicama, and cucumber.

Quick and easy!!! 😁

Whole nutrient dense food for the win!! 💗💗💗

Today is my “First Day of School” and I am so excited!!

I am going back to school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner 💗💗💗

After discovering nutrition and lifestyle tips that have helped me to reverse autoimmune symptoms that I have had for almost 35 years, I am eager to help others enjoy those same freedoms!!

I can’t wait to share with you all the info that I learn!!

Who is ready for some great news?! As you know, I've been working on answering the question "What to eat? and why?" with a series of articles examining the health benefits of individual foods and food groups. And, while many of the nutrient-dense superfoods I've written about so far don't come as a surprise (I mean, was anyone expecting that leafy greens or berries weren't a healthy choice?!), this week's featured superfood might: chocolate.

I batch cooked a whole bunch of veggies tonight!! It makes my heart so happy to have food prepped!!💕💕💕

A little tip that you may have known, but was new to me...roasting veggies in glass dishes allows you to fit way more food in your oven, verses using a baking sheet!

Anything that allows me to cook more in less time is a BIG WIN for me!!! 🙌🙌🙌

Restoring Health With AIP

I passionate about helping others to restore and reclaim their health! I have walked through much of my life with various health ailments. I learned to “tolerate” them and just accept them as being me...“my normal.” In September of 2015 I was introduced to the concept of clean eating, as well as the importance of consuming whole nutrient dense foods. I definitely noticed an improvement in my health, and then I plateaued. In November of 2017 I started following the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) which is an approach specifically targeted to those with autoimmune conditions (to which I have 3). It is also helpful for anyone dealing with chronic illnesses of any kind. It’s focus in on providing our bodies with the raw resources it needs to function optimally, while also avoiding the foods that undermine our health. It’s about being intentional about our health...intentional about the foods we choose to consume...as well as being intentional about lifestyle choices regarding stress management, sleep quality, and physical activity.

After restoring my health with this protocol, I felt passionate to “spread the word” to others who may be suffering. There is hope, there are options, and there are empowering choices you can make to take control of your health!! I wish I had known about these choices sooner. So to that, I am here to share information, share my experiences, to be a resource for you, and to help you navigate through the confusing world of nutritional choices.
