While we don't have the opportunity to work, we are engaged in long-delayed projects for ourselves.

We lost most of our tablewares in last year's moves and I didn't have time to make good stuff for our kitchen before. It turns out that I was the cobbler who always wears the worst shoes!
And now is the "good opportunity" to fix this. Here are our new pretty bowls and cutlery stand 🙌🏻

Hello, we’re here and continue to look for opportunities to stay in touch and keep our works available for you. Last few days Anna and I have been discussing options for moving to another country. There are several paths for us, but for various reasons each of them isn't very good.

We can go to Georgia (not a state, but a country). It’s pretty easy to collect documents for moving to Georgia, the rent is inexpensive, and we can open a business and officially restore our workshop there. But this seems like an inferior option, cos we'll have to leave a lot of equipment, tools and other stuff here, as well as our relatives. And the conditions for our cats will be worse there.

We can also try to move to the EU. There are also several ways, but: marriage doesn't fit; we don’t have enough grounds to get asylum, and even if we get through it there are a million other difficulties; we have a lack of budget to open a business or investing. There remains the option of studying in the EU and Anna definitely can do it. But this also requires large investments and more importantly it’ll divide us all for a very long time.

So we keep looking for options 🙏🏻

We're a russian family workshop and we have to temporarily suspend our stores. 

We still can send parcels worldwide with our postal services, but on March 5 PayPal and eBay stopped working in our country. This means that we no longer able to accept your payments neither through Etsy nor eBay. We sincerely hope that this is a temporary restriction and we'll be back as soon as this hell is over. And while we have the opportunity, we'll continue to create pagan lanterns to impress you with new beautiful artifacts when we return.

We have been working with eBay for a very long time, but last fall they announced the transition to a new payment system, which turned out to be fu***ng hard to connect. If you also use ebay, I sincerely hope you guys have it all easier. While we corresponded with managers for months and tried to get through this bureaucratic hell, our store was frozen. But now Anna finally managed to set it up and we are back in the ranks 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Last week I was busy with a new collection of one-rune ritual lanterns. In a couple more weeks, when they dry up and get burned, we'll have a new symbol in the assortment: a small lamp with Thor's hammer Mjolnir.

One-rune lanterns are conceived as a handy magical tool. They are small enough to fit perfectly on any domestic altar; light in weight so they easy to take with you for outdoor rituals; each is designed for a specific purpose and each symbol has its own meaning; and from several lamps you can assemble a specific composition you need for your ritual.

Now there are already eight lanterns in this collection: classic Algiz rune; Algiz in two positions straight and inverted; Othala; Tiwaz; Ansuz; Fehu; Raido and Sowilo. Mjolnir is coming soon!

One new runic lantern with prints of wild juniper is available in our store!

I have kept these branches since the last fall, when Anna and I explored the forests around our new home. We rode far enough on our bikes and found a beautiful magical glade with juniper bushes. Next September I really would like to go there to collect berries for tea, tinctures and rituals.

The juniper branches on the lamp is a symbol of purification and protection from evil.

One more new lantern for the approaching spring 🙌🏻

The two main meanings of the Algiz rune are protection and prosperity of life. This lamp turned out to be really neat and airy, and I associate it more with a new beginning, rebirth, nascent life and the blessing of the Gods. Only one available.

In honor of the new turn of the Wheel of the Year, a new pagan lantern in green glaze with prints of spring leaves. A ritual aroma candle for the Goddess Freya includes as a gift, I think it suits perfectly for this lamp.

Freyja is the warlike Goddess of love, beauty, witchcraft and harvest. You can turn to her on love issues, thank her for a successful harvest, or ask for help in magical rituals. Scent for Freyja: fresh grass in a summer meadow, flower honey, magic ringing in the air.

First of all Mjolnir is the personification of indestructible power and strength, and is often used as a protective symbol. But it is also customary to use it during various rituals to bless people, objects or space, for example during marriage ceremonies or at birth. The lamp also depicts the ancient Futhark alphabet, each rune of which has its own magical meaning and different areas of action. All the runes, closed in a circle, personify the balance of world power and provide reliable magic support.

To complement your altar, you can also order a ritual prayer candle dedicated to God Thor. The candle includes a runic prayer card with protection spells and smells amazing like the air after a thunderstorm.

And what Gods is your altar dedicated to?

Oak is the king of forests, a symbol of strength, reliability, and durability. In many pagan cultures, it was believed that the strength of the clan was contained in sacred oak trees, and its bark had huge healing properties. In Slavic paganism, a lot of various rituals and wedding ceremonies were held exactly near the oak.

The new lantern has the perfect combination: prints of oak leaves and the Othala rune symbolizing the prosperity and protection of the family. I think the lamp is best suited as a protective artifact for a young family or as a gift for a wedding.

For the prints I used oak leaves from a tree that is over 100 years old and three different types of glaze 🙌🏻

For the approaching Imbolc I’ve prepared a couple of unique glazed lanterns with green ornaments. It’s already a tradition for us to create special lamps for the Wheel of the Year celebrations.

On February 1-2 we expect Imbolc, the holiday of the first signs of spring. In Slavic paganism it’s called Gromnitsa (a derivative of the word "thunder", cos it’s believed that this is the only day in winter when you can hear thunder).

Anna and I never don't divide such holidays into «ours» and «foreign ones», cos the meaning is quite similar around the world and our traditions have common roots. Also the astronomical year cannot be moved anywhere, and of course a festive dinner will never be superfluous!

So Imbolc is celebrated halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. This is a time of rebirth, light and inspiration, when nature begins to get free from icy shackles. And although in our cold area nature is still encased in ice, the change of the season can already be felt in the noticeably increasing daytime.

And that is why I use plant prints on the lamps now, it's like a call of spring so that she doesn't forget about us and come sooner.

Today is Anna's birthday, she turns 32. We rented a nice little house in a pine forest, and are going to stay there for a couple of days. Let's congratulate her, she does so much for the workshop 🥳

In Russian paganism, yesterday there was a holiday dedicated to one of the Slavic gods, the patron of cattle, fun, fortune telling, dancing and passion.

On this day, it was customary to tell fortunes for the whole next year, bake ceremonial cookies in the form of cattle, make rituals of youthful initiation into men, dress up in animal skins and masks and dance a lot.

It is also believed that the tradition of swimming in the ice hole came to us from these ancient holidays, since the water in these days acquires healing properties.

The tradition of bringing evergreens into the house on the longest night of the year has been known since ancient times. Evergreens symbolize life, rebirth and renewal, especially in cold climates when all other trees are naked and sleepy. It's believed they have power over death because their green never faded, and they were used to hold back winter demons and encourage the Sun’s return.
