Most road trip snacks are usually way too easy to overeat on and contain minimal protein but these bad boys are always a good choice ✅ not only tasty but super good macros! 😋😋

Since then he has done SO many running events and tri’s after we thought he’d never be able to walk again. He’d be the first person to say that the recovery was HARD but totally worth all of the effort. From recovering mentally/emotionally and recovering from ‘survivors guilt’ to the physically recovery and learning how to walk again- it was tough but it goes to show how AMAZING the human body truly is- especially if you nourish it with the right foods, move your body regularly and look after your mental well-being. For dad- the beach has always helped his PTSD over the years so it also helped the mental recovery from this accident too. 🌊
He will never walk the same again, and he has broken bits in his body that will never heal (this side of Heaven) BUT he is so grateful to have a body that thrives 🫶🏼

This is a huge encouragement to you ALL, to look after your body. To prioritise your health, and to NEVER GIVE UP.

Spent 12 hours driving down South NSW on Friday and I LOVE having food prepped to fuel me for a day on the road without needing to purchase food 💗 🚗

I packed and ate my Weetbix for breakfast; topped with protein powder, banana and peanut butter 🍌
Had my vitamins etc with this ✔️
Made myself a coffee in a keep cup to sip on ☕️
Had a tofu protein wrap for lunch 🥙
Half a box of crackers as a snack 🍗
Half a protein bar and ate the other half when we arrived by the fire 🔥
Made a heap of gyros and wrapped in foil to heat up on the fire bbq when we got there for dinner 🌯

I also went for a quick 5k run at 3.30am before we left to help me not feel so restless 🤪🤪

1 heaped cup of frozen Strawberries
1 cup Milk of choice
1/2 frozen Banana
1/2 scoop of Vanilla Crème WPI or Vanilla Collagen
1-2 tablespoons of high protein Natural Yoghurt

DATE NIGHT 💕

If your health regime is getting in the way of the most important relationships in your life- is it really something you want to pursue? 🤔

For YEARS I would sacrifice meals out with friends because of my “health goals” but in fact it actually had a negative affect on my overall health. ❌

I am all for nourishing your body, getting good quality sleep and moving regularly BUT I’m also for healthy relationships so if you’re needing to say NO to your spouse to go for date night every single time they ask; and it’s negatively affecting your relationship maybe you need to change up your health regime slightly! ✔️

I understand sometimes you may have strict goals for a strict purpose so there may be seasons where saying no is necessary, and there may be times you just need to be by yourself and say no to social events- but if you’re feeling the need to say NO to a cute little date because you’re scared it’ll ruin your progress I’m here to educate you 🙋🏼‍♀️⬇️⬇️

I’ve been eating in a way that is maintainable for a couple of years now and even though I prefer a home cooked meal I know my babe loves to go out for food every once in a while so I happily go along knowing I am still in control of what I order and can still order something nutritious for my body (and if there’s nothing nutritious on the menu for me I know I’ve eaten well for the whole day before that anyway and it doesn’t happen often). This is a healthy approach I have taken and it works for me. 🌱

My husband and I have one date night a week, sometimes it’s a homecooked meal and movie in or a cute games night at home, or sometimes it’s a homecooked meal watching the sunset somewhere cute or a meal out somewhere new! Changes each week but it feels so nice to prioritize time with each other away from work 🌅

This is my apology to any women I have ever trained over the past 13 years and for every post I’ve ever written/stories I’ve ever shared publicly that did not take women’s hormone health into account.
I’m going to do better ❤️

I can still only give advice/create plans in the scope of a qualified Nutritionist & Personal Trainer and will be able to refer you to other health professionals for further assistance depending on the individual and their needs but it makes me SO EXCITED to be able to help women THRIVE and LOVE their bodies because us women are created in such amazing and BEAUTIFUL ways and the way our bodies work is SO COOL! ❤️❤️

FIT FAMILY 🫶🏼

I know I was born into the right family because our favorite past-time is always doing something active together even when we are on holidays 🌞

Today I did a bike ride/run with my mum and dad, one of us was running at all times and the other two were on a bike, swapping for 30km and it was the best way to get some quality time together 😇

If you’re having trouble fitting in exercise while also trying to prioritize time with your loved ones- how about try do both together? “Habit stacking” as they call it 😉

Go for a walk to the playground with your kids ✔️
Catch up with a friend for coffee and a walk ✔️
Go for a bike ride with your spouse ✔️
Do a stretch/pilates sesh with your bestie ✔️
Take your child to the skatepark and play around too ✔️
Walk or ride the kids to school ✔️
Go for a cute beach walk with the fam after dinner ✔️

HORMONE HEALTH 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

If you’re currently struggling with your hormones; I would recommend first looking at your nutrition ✅

Instead of thinking “what do I need to cut out of my diet”, think “what can I add into my diet to help my hormones thrive”. ✅
Things like healthy fats (eg avo/butter/nuts etc). 🥑
Things like lean proteins (eg grilled chicken). 🍗
Things like complex carbs (like potatoes/sweet potatoes/brown rice). 🥔

This will help reduce your likelihood of overeating on processed/sugary foods. 🍟 🍫
Sugar really does affect our hormones in so many ways!

My second tip would be to reduce stress!

A little bit about me:
I’m Raya, 32 years old & living in Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I am originally from the Great Ocean Road in Vic & I still feel like it’s home to me. 🏝️

I have the worlds most AMAZING husband, I am obsessed with him and the life we have been blessed with 💕

I am a university qualified Nutritionist & a Personal Trainer but I stopped working at gyms a year ago because I wanted to create an online presence to inspire & encourage more people to prioritize their health. 🔥

I LOVE creating plans for people that fit into their lifestyle & reaches their goals all while keeping it enjoyable and exciting. Life is too short for a full boring diet 🤪

My main aim in life is to help people experience true joy & optimal health 💕 I also want people to LOVE their bodies and feel good in them. 🫶🏼
I want people to have SO MUCH energy and laugh a lot.
And I want people to walk in the purpose they were created for. ✅

I also want people to be able to know and experience the love of Jesus that I currently feel because it really does make life a zillion times better 💕

This year my main fitness/health goals are:
Get 3 hours sleep before midnight most nights.
Run in an ultra marathon (at least 50km).
Ensure that I take my supps each day (Greens, Collagen etc).
& be able to do 5 unassisted pull ups. 💥

Lean Protein ✔️✔️
Okay let’s talk about the benefits of consuming lean proteins. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
Essential for life 🍃
Promotes a higher metabolism rate 🥰
Supports brain functioning 🧠
By choosing leaner proteins it is better for your heart ❤️
Helps promote weight management 💃🏽
& loads more (including lots of sciencey stuff that I’m interested in but probably would bore you haha so I’ll spare you)

The crazy thing is, that as we age our bodies actually require MORE lean protein & in this day and age we just aren’t eating enough of it. With the rise in fast food availability and processed food items so readily available at our finger tips- we are consuming less and less protein. Do you know what this does? It weakens us, it makes us more hungry and therefore likely to overeat (hello rise in obesity) and also more risk of injury due to weaker joints/bones/muscles.
Think about it; what do most of us opt for breakfast daily? A bowl of cereal? I’m not dissing cereal (I love Weetbix for brekky haha but always add sources of protein to it), but I can tell you that your bowl of cereal is I’ll most likely only contain about 1/4 of the optimal protein amount or less of the optimal protein amount for your first meal of the day. And it’s usually pretty refined leaving you super hungry by mid-morning with your body CRYING out for more food.
When you go out for dinner, the meal you order may have some chicken or steak but most of the calories would be made up of unnecessary fats and refined/processed carbs.
I LOVE fats and carbs (hello avocado 🥑 and 🍚 YUM and so good for you) but prioritizing protein in your meals will help your body feel more satisfied, with longer lasting energy and is also great for aesthetic purposes too 💁🏼‍♀️

If you are a cereal lover like me; try adding some protein powder on top. If you use a great tasting protein powder like me; it’ll taste AMAZING and will benefit your health more than you know! Or opt for a higher protein omelette or some eggs in a protein wrap or something that’s going to give you a good dose of protein to start your day ⭐️

Let’s talk WHOLEGRAINS 🍞🥟🍚

SO MUCH FIBER, vitamins, minerals, can help control cholesterol levels & blood pressure, keep your full and energized to live your best life!

I’m a sucker for bread. I love it. And I LOVE wholemeal bread 🥖 a delicious salad sanga with crunch lettuce/tomato/cucumber/beetroot and some protein makes the PERFECT lunch. I’m also a sucker for oats. They’re such a good whole grain. A nice porridge with some protein powder and berries makes an amazing breakfast! Or mix up some oats with almond milk/protein powder and sit it in the fridge overnight to soften and in the morning it’ll taste amazing topped with some fruit and peanut butter 🥰😋
I’m also a sucker for rice. How about cook up some brown rice (it’s worth the wait I promise 🤪), and eat it with some curried veggies/protein OR a stir fry with a some lean meat and finely chopped veg! Mix up a yummy sauce or use a store brought one and you have an amazing dinner! 🥰
