Barre Moves that give your butt a serious lift 🍑 Ok- did anyone else notice that since they turned 40 their glutes seem to melt into the upper hamstring? Lol It’s actually quite a challenge to keep a perky behind as we age. But what I have found is the combo of bare flat back work, heavy lifts like squats and deadlifts, along with 10k steps a day does wonders for keeping our glutes strong and shapely! Hormone Balance Part 2 Yesterday I shared we should be adding liver loving and gut health promoting foods to improve hormones. Honestly! As a woman in her 40’s, I know we have a lot on our plate and a lot we want to offer the world. But many mid-life women are struggling with energy or lack there of! It’s not health vs happiness. The truth is- they both expand as we work on the other. Happiness is found when our bodies are healthy. And we find truth health in our bodies when we are happy! So while yes, you may need to delay the constant instant gratification for long term gains, that doesn’t mean you have to be miserable along the way. Here are your home workout tips to optimize your home workout experience! For those of you who have an online subscription to a workout/yoga platform, these are some tips to help you set up at home. Plus- the help make your habit more sustainable by making it more enjoyable 🥳🤩 1. Have a nice dedicated space. Whether it’s setting up a gym in the garage, family room, guest room or basement… create a space you like and that is welcoming and distraction free. 2. Watch your live workouts or replays on a laptop or iPad… not your iPhone if you can help it. 3. Turn up the brightness and sound to make it easy to see and hear the instructor and music. 4. Buy the right equipment! You can do this slowly, but if you are committed to making it a habit that sticks, having nice home equipment definitely helps! What else did I miss? What if you woke up and asked yourself: “How can I show up as my best self today?” I love this prompt because it allows for you to feel into what your body needs! Perhaps it needs more rest, perhaps it’s a hard core workout…. For some it’s a blood sugar balancing breakfast and for others it’s a long hot shower then straight to work. Don’t get swept away in your day without a pause or reflection point to determine what is going to fill your cup so you can show up for others (and yourself!!!) as your very best. And remember what’s best for you is always best for others. I do encourage my clients to start their day with meditation or kundalini as it provided this special time before the day begins to connect with yourself from a place of love and integrity.
