Thoughts from the trails ⛰️☀️ Exercise is so important, especially as you age. My top 3 (of many) reasons why I exercise: 1. An object in motion stays in motion— if I want to be strong, functional and independent in my 80s, I need to be moving everyday in 50s, 60s, and 70s 2. ROI = Return on Investment— exercise gives you a massive return on your investment: mental, emotional, physical, and metabolic health all improve with daily movement. And daily movement is an investment in my future self 😊 Remember, Your aging health is your true wealth 💯 You get out of your aging experience what you put into your life daily— and exercise is a foundational part of this. 3. Practice what I preach— it would be hypocritical to encourage my patients to exercise daily if I’m not doing it myself 😊 and if I can do it, you can do it. @kristierosser.
Thoughts from the trails ☀️ The root cause of menopausal symptoms and suffering is complete hormone loss (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone). The treatment for the root cause of hormone loss in menopause is hormone replacement therapy. Menopause can be an amazing experience for the 30-40+ years or more that you will live in it (for the rest of your life 😊) when hormones are replaced and optimized for your needs. @kristierosser
Thoughts from the trails this morning 😊 Your Lifestyle is Impactful Medicine 💯 If you want to age better, you need to do better — Everyday 👍 @kristierosser
Trail running thoughts today on Menopause. Menopause is often misunderstood. It’s not something we “go through”, it’s a new state of existence through the end of our lives. Menopause is a permanent state of complete hormone loss due to ovarian failure. It’s the complete cessation of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and about 20% of your DHEA (yes, your ovaries produce DHEA, too.) Most women will enter menopause at age 51 (plus or minus a few years) and exist in menopause for 30-40 years which will be more than 1/3 of our lives. Hormone loss is essentially the loss of important chemical messengers that keep your body together: Brain, skin, joints, vagina, muscle, bones, blood sugar and insulin metabolism, and more. The loss of important hormones triggers a variety of responses in the body that are both obvious (hot flashes, night sweats, sleeplessness, joint pain (frozen shoulder), depressive or anxious moods, sex drive loss, vaginal pain and dryness, etc) and less obvious (cellular changes) of inflammation, bone and muscle loss, body fat and waist circumference increases, blood sugar and insulin resistance, and more. Hormone replacement can be beneficial for many women and make a huge difference in both aging experience and quality of life. Hormone replacement should be bioindividualized, no cookie cutter approaches, and should be managed with the support of a practitioner that specializes and practices the speciality with actual clinical experience. I am opening my practice to 4 new patients this summer (must be 40 or older), if you are interested in working with a hormone specialist like me to support you through perimenopause (40-50 years old) or menopause (51 and older) then complete my new patient questionnaire on my website www.Kristierosser.com or my link tree “work with me” on insta @kristierosser
