Feelings are always valid, thinkings are almost never. 😵 If the next thing in the sentence after “I feel ___” isn’t a body sensation (hot, cold, tingling, pain, heaviness, etc) or a emotion word (sad, angry, embarassed, desperate, etc) you’re counterfeiting your feelings. You’re mistaking thinkings for feelings. Thinkings are either a made up story you don’t even know if it’s true or a judgment. “I feel like my boss is a jerk,” or “I feel like my partner and I aren’t compatible,” are thinkings, not feelings.
😱 Feelings are always true and valid. Thinkings keep us looping and stuck. They block intimacy and destroy relationships. They’re exhausting.
