Parks class had a great introduction to their new science topic of ‘Forces’ this afternoon. It was a fiddly job, but they were very resilient and made their own paper rocket using a straw. They were then able to make their rockets launch by using air force. They then took their rockets outside to test them on the playground as well. It was great fun!

Shackleton's letter
In Science, Year 1 have been thinking about how we can protect the environment and in particular, have been researching plastic pollution in the ocean. Shackleton class have written a letter to explain why littering can be dangerous to sea animals and also what we can do to with our rubbish to prevent in ending up in our seas and oceans.
As part of our English unit, the children in Year 1 are looking at the rhyming book 'Oi Frog!' As a class, Anning have created a rhyming story called 'Oi Rat!' The class have created a story map to help them remember the story in preparation for writing the story. They have enjoyed sequencing the stories and retelling the stories in small groups.
