Meet Vincent Koekemoer, a South African man who's spent his life chasing his dream of owning a Willys vehicle!

After 40 years of searching, he found one for R21 000. He took three years and an additional R60 000 to restore it to its original condition with original parts. Every part was original. He had loosened, cleaned, greased and tightened every nut and bolt. If he couldn’t get the parts sent to him from America, he’d make them himself.

He started taking his restored Willys to local fairs and someone offered him R900,000 to part with it, but he has no intention of selling, yet. Instead, he’s now picked up another two Willys, after a farmer from nearby Kirkwood phoned him to tell him he had two wrecks on his farm and asked if he could restore one of them.

Now he has four Willys, two on the road and two in restoration.

His passion has taken him on a journey to meet fellow Willys enthusiasts from all over, and he says the best part is the friends he's made along the way. With a keen eye for detail and a love for history, Vincent's story is a true testament to following your dreams!
