Soar On Wings Like Eagles Our aim is to grow the strong points and nurture the weak points of each child as well as to integrate therapies into learning time.
SOWLE centre is a Christ driven non-profit organisation with the aim of educating higher functioning children with Down Syndrome and other Special Educational Needs to the highest possible level attainable by each pupil. Eagles Homework Centre and Aftercare is provided for ALL children where homework is supported by teachers in small groups in a tranquil, secure "home away from home" farm-like setting.

Today we celebrated Spring day at SOWLE Centre by wearing Civvies and some even made beautiful spring hats. 🌸
As the flowers bloom and the days grow warmer, we're excited to welcome the new season filled with fresh beginnings and new possibilities.

We are extremely proud to share the fantastic results from the recent Alberton Eisteddfod! Our students have truly shone in their categories, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.
Item winners:
- Cooper Boltman: Overall item winner for his age group in the art section! 🏆
- Sipho Makhoba: Item winner for a non-verbal recital with an outstanding 94%! 🌟
- Cooper Boltman: Item winner for piano 🎹
- Tshegofatso Ngoepe: Item winner for vocal performance 🎤
- Junior Dance: Item winners with a stunning performance in the Choir Dance category! 💃
In addition to these individual triumphs, our junior and senior groups also performed exceptionally well:
- The juniors danced their way to 90%, and the seniors dazzled with scores of 90% and 91% for their respective dances.
- Drama and music categories saw several platinum (90%+) and gold (80%+) awards, highlighting the incredible talent across the board.
- The art category achieved 8 Platinum (90%+) and 12 Gold (80% - 89%) awards!

As Winter draws to a close, we have one last cosy recipe to share before we welcome the fresh flavours of Spring. This hearty vegetable soup is perfect for those chilly days and is packed with fresh veggies from SOWLE'ful Foods. 🥕🍅
Recipe:
1. Sauté an onion, two chopped carrots, and two celery stalks in olive oil until softened.
2. Add three garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute.
3. Add four cups of veggie broth, two diced potatoes, and a diced tomato. Simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Stir in one cup of spinach until wilted.
5. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.

We recently had the privilege of hosting a paint day fundraiser at the stunning Gracia de Dios. 🤩
All of the ladies had such an amazing time, along with a few of the SOWLE kiddies who joined in on the fun. From painting, raffles, and auctions to delicious food and so much more, it was a day to remember!

Happy Bicycle Day for yesterday!
What better time to share our gratitude to all the incredible cyclists who participated in our very first SOWLE Cycle challenge last month!
It was definitely a day to remember!
A special shout out to the individual who cycled the full course on a BMX bike to raise extra funds – you rock!
And it wouldn't have been a true SOWLE event without a few of our learners taking part as well. Well done to the three amazing learners who braved the challenge!

Join us for a delightful, relaxed morning of painting in the most stunning venue this side of the East Rand as part of SOWLE Centre's Fundraising initiatives.
We have a relaxed step by step process guiding you in creating your artwork.
*Feel free to customise your colours
Theme: Garden of Grace
No painting experience required, open to all experience levels from beginners to advanced, adults (Men and Women) and children aged 6+ (provided they can sit throughout the painting class).
Date: 01 June 2024
Time: 09:00 - 12:00
(Please arrive 08:15 - 08:30 as the class will promptly start at 09:00)
Venue: Gracia de Dios, 99 Boden rd, Benoni Small Farms/Jatniel, Benoni (not far from SOWLE Centre - almost across from us)
Cost: R385 per person
Includes:
A3 Canvas - stretched on a wooden frame, perfect to hang your new painting
All art materials - Acrylic paints, paintbrushes, water containers etc.
Coffee and tea station / juice and water station / snack platter and cupcake available on the table
What to bring along:
Your own apron - a plastic one will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own
Cash - as we might have some vendors, raffles and lucky draws during the event
