Hey there my Ruthless Fam🥰
It's been a while since I posted any updates on this platform, so here are a few of my favourite pieces from over the last year in Cape Town.
The journey has been tough and I've learnt a lot, but the biggest thing I've learnt is that my heart belongs to the 051.🫶
Even though I am in Cape Town permanently now, I will never take Bloem for granted.
My roots are in a strong foundation, like a tree planted by the River.
These updates are merely posted to my Ruthless friends and family who care about the journey and potentially thought I stopped running my race:

Hand tattoos. Let's talk about it...

A good hand tattoo goes a long way. It's super important to pick your design with caution, though. This placement - however bad ass it may be - is pretty exposed. If you're working in an office or wishing for that promotion, double-check your company's tattoo policy. I mean, I'm all about sticking it to the man, but making informed choices is of paramount importance!
Also - let's not forget - friction is a real thing and our hands live through it everyday. Thorough aftercare comes in handy (lol) here... Your tattoo needs lifelong TLC regardless of placement.

So, if you're opting for a hand piece - sleep on it, give me a call and we'll stick it to the man together. 🤝

Yeah, well of course it's not painted...
BUT we thought it well to chat a bit about the different styles of tattooing. There are SOOOO many. From Trash Polka to Realism... from American Traditional to New School. Japanese, Blackwork, Stick and Poke, Portraiture, Fine Line, Tribal, Watercolour... the list seems endless. And new styles and genres continuously sprout up, evolve and grow. 🌱

What's your favourite style?

Had an absolute blast at in Cape Town - meeting new people, making friends and spreading the love of ink are a few of our favourite things!

Humans are curious beings. And that's fantastic, because without that innate curiosity we would have been a bland bunch. BUT - have you ever been bombarded by family members or random people in Spar asking questions about your tattoo? "What's the meaning behind this?" or "What does that represent?" or "What's the story behind that tree on your arm?" Yup, same.

Some people love sharing their stories, but for many the meaning behind it is for them to know and others to simply admire the art of their special piece. And sometimes people just get a tattoo because they want to; because they like the design and aesthetic. (Something that doesn't always make sense to the sceptics... and that's also totally okay :) )

Be mindful before asking others what the meaning behind their tattoos are... Respect their story and the fact that not everyone necessarily wants to share that precious piece of themselves. Know that the culture of tattooing is a sacred form of art and should be treated that way. Let's be kind to one another and celebrate our differences. 🖤🌍

A cool design goes a long way, right?
Nope. Soz. WRONG! 👎
So many people come to me with sick designs and ideas. And yeah, it is rad - ON PAPER. Some designs, how cool it may be, just don't translate well on the bod. Crisp, thicker lines and darker, vibrant colours are the way to go. It will last longer and will look better on your skin.
Keep that in mind for your next tattoo or ask your artist for some advice on tweaking your design until it's future proof. 🥇
