The T-technique weave pattern is one of the many types of weave bead welding techniques. Weave bead welding is a technique where the welder makes a weaving pattern in order to cover a larger area. It can be used to create cover welds over stringer beads (also known as multipass welding). This technique is therefore used for layering welds, and also when creating two or more welds on the same seam. Source: https://www.wcwelding.com/welding-techniques.html/

Our Thermamax TruFlow Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) System is especially designed for welding operations that take place in confined spaces or areas without adequate ventilation. This complete system purifies surrounding air and delivers clean, breathable air for up to 9 hours without interruption. Welders equipped with Powered Air Purifying Respiratory (PAPR) Systems are prevented from inhaling harmful cancer-causing fumes, enhanced with the use of different filters for different metals and applications.
Do you know that you need to use a different filter in your PAPR System according to the type of metal you’re welding? Using the incorrect filter renders your PAPR system ineffective against protecting you from harmful fumes. Unique Welding takes no shortcuts when it comes to safety – scan this QR code to view our Filter Selection Chart to see what you should be using with your PAPR System.

The DIAMOND ADF boasts an unprecedented 2.0 Clear Light State thanks to its revolutionary TruVision Technology. It has a digital dark state of 5-8 / 9-13, an overall ADF range of 4 – 13, and a 1/1/1/2 classification – ensuring that your eyes are protected from all harmful UV and IR emissions. The DIAMOND ADF holds multiple certifications, including ANSI Z97.1-2015, EN 175:1997, CSA Z94.3-2015 and CE EN 379:2009-07.
The Onyx ADF has a 4.0 Clear Light State and a digital dark state of 5-8 / 9-13, with an overall ADF range of 4 – 13 for maximum UV and IR emission protection. The ONYX ADF also has a 1/1/1/2 classification, and holds certifications including DIN EN 379:2009-07, and CE EN 379:2009-07. The ONYX ADF has an automatic power-on function thanks to its photosensitive sensor on the filter lens. It is able to sense changes in light and will automatically power on. When it senses an absence of light stimulation, it will automatically power-off after 10 minutes, saving battery life.
The Thermamax TITAN Helmet also comes with a superior dual-strap adjustable comfort headgear with torque ratchet and comfort band; as well as a Speedy Loop Hard Hat Adaptor, which allows you to attach your hard hat to the helmet and wear both at the same time. This lightweight helmet also offers Grind Mode, and a 12-month warranty.

Introducing an exceptional range of ExperTIG torches by the Internationally renowned Italian manufacturer, Trafimet. These sleek, modern torches have an expertly balanced handle, allowing for easy and effortless welding. Their cable connection consists of a ball joint, which lightens the weight of the handle and allows a more flexible handling. The ball joint also increases the lifetime of the cable set by protecting the inner electric control cable. Flexihead adaptors are also available for each ExperTIG torch, giving the torch a flexible neck. This allows the welder to adjust the angle of the torch to get into the perfect position for optimal welding precision. These state-of-the-art TIG torches are available exclusively through Thermamax, and come in 17V and 26V air-cooled and 18V water-cooled variations, each with 8m long cables. It can be used to create cover welds over stringer beads (also known as multipass welding). This technique is therefore used for layering welds, and also when creating two or more welds on the same seam. There are various weaving patterns that can be created for different purposes. We will explore these patterns in the coming weeks. Potential problems that can occur from poor weaving techniques are: undercutting the weld bead edge, as well as bad fusion within the welds. The backstep pattern is a good way to avoid distortion and cracking on thin or delicate areas. Backstep welding involves traveling back to the previous bead deposit in narrow oval-like motions before moving forwards again. It is particularly useful for distortion control, as it helps to counteract any shrinkage that may be caused by the bead cooling down. Stitch welding involves initiating a weld, welding for a portion of the joint length, terminating the weld, and then starting again along the joint a specified distance from the previous weld. Stitch welding limits the amount of heat being transferred to the workpiece. It also reduces the welding time. Those using this technique should be aware that there is a reduction in strength of the weld joint due to the un welded portions in between the welds. Thermamax and world-renowned gas equipment manufacturer, Wilson, have teamed up again in the name of safety. This time, we bring you our Fully-Certified range of Flashback Arrestors. These small, but vital pieces of equipment are used to protect gas cylinders with integrated pressure regulators against dangerous reverse gas flow and flashbacks. They are extremely light and compact in design for comfortable handling, with a large surface area made of stainless steel that extinguishes any dangerous flashback. A temperature-sensitive cut-off valve extinguishes sustained flashbacks long before the internal temperature of the arrestors reaches a dangerous level. A spring-loaded non-return valve prevents slow or sudden reverse gas flow. These Thermamax Wilson Flashback Arrestors hold numerous certifications, including UL, EN, ISO 5175-1 and AS 4603. Copies available on request. For more information, contact us on 011 841 9800 or visit www.uniquewelding.co.za
