My birthday is in 10 days, and I am so grateful to be here. Kum’nandi ukuba la 🌍. There have been so many times where I wanted to give up. I am so glad I didn’t.

A few weeks back, an Uber Eats guy said he liked my name and asked me what it means. I told him it means “warlike,” and he didn’t know how to respond. I could tell he was low-key disappointed in the meaning 😂.

To be honest, I didn’t blame him because who looks at a baby and says, “Yep, she’s ‘warlike’” 😅 - my parents.

Anyway, I’ve since made peace with it and come to love it. As I reflect on my journey, I get it. Like Kendrick said, “All my life I had to fight …” No, for real, since birth I’ve been fighting — was born premature, doctors declared me dead, and I said nope, and I never looked back since.

As I’m about to celebrate a new chapter in my life, I want to thank God for his grace upon my life. I’m so grateful for my warlike nature that has helped me have the grit to overcome life’s challenges (especially as an entrepreneur because wow).

Being an ambitious overachiever, there’s always a new peak to scale and a fresh goal to crush. Last year, despite my accomplishments, I felt a nagging dissatisfaction. I sensed that something crucial was missing – a profound purpose, the big “WHY.”

Understanding that my purpose went beyond fleeting achievements and material gains, I made a bold move. I packed my bags, returned home, and launched , aiming to make a positive impact through digital transformation, empowerment programs, and feeding schemes.

In the beginning, doubts surfaced. No extra cash, no financial support – just faith that honoring this calling would pave the way. Miraculously, it did.

As the year nears its end, we’ve consistently provided food parcels and soup almost every Thursday since our April launch. This achievement, for myself and the team, stands as a testament to God’s power to accomplish the impossible when you dream beyond selfish desires.

Tomorrow on the 25th of November we start the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign.

It is everyone's responsibility to take up activism against gender-based violence. Let's Stand Together Against Abuse 💚 Rinato Clinic is proud to be part of this powerful movement that aims to raise awareness, promote change, and ultimately put an end to the deeply troubling issue of abuse that affects women and children in our country. 👫🚫
