You need to be anchored deeply in Christ to live a Holy life and to grow spiritually. Pray without ceasing and reading the word of God, is the key elements that will keep you rooted in Christ. Stay blessed!!!

PRAYER & FASTING WEEK: 16-20 JANUARY 2023 🙏🙏

Prayer is foundational to our faith as Pentecostal believers. History clearly shows that all Spiritual deepening, revitalization or revivals were birthed in the context of prayer.

As the leaders of the AFM in South Africa, we are calling on all our Pastors, Assembly Leaders and Members to make a determined effort to revitalize and energize our traditional focus on prayer during the month of January.

Elke vrou het ‘n storie wat sy kan vertel.
My storie is 'n vrou wat kan uithou, kan bou, om lief te hê, wat kan huil, wat kan lag. Wat hou van gee en nie skroom om my laaste weg te gee nie, met geen gedagte om iets terug te ontvang nie want ek ken Christus wat altyd voorsien in my en my familie se behoeftes.

‘n Vrou wat ‘n ‘n gelukkige lewe het want ek ervaar Sy genade dag by dag as ek kyk na my man, my kinders, klein kinders, my pragtige huis en tuin en selfs die talente wat God aan my toe vertrou het. Hoe kan ek die Here vergelde vir al Sy weldade.

Ek is vir die Here ewig dankbaar vir Wie ek is en dat Hy my gemaak het om Hom te loof en te prys.

Hy het my diep kom uithaal, nou kan ek die lewe in die oë staar en sê ek behoort aan Hom wat my elke dag die krag gee. Hy is die een wat my volkome gesond kom maak het, toe ek Hom vra om dit vir my te doen... en het Hy twee keur gedink??? Nee stellig nie, Jesus het dit vir my dadelik gedoen, om aan my te bewys dat Hy my Groot Geneesheer is.

Ek sal die Here altyd deur Loof en Prys, so lank as wat ek asem het en Hom vir ewig Lief het omdat Hy vir my groot en ondeurgrondelike dinge gedoen het. Dankie Jesus!

Celebrating 114 Years of being a Pentecostal Church in South Africa: An Innovative Church Logo Day

The Apostolic Faith Mission of SA (in Afrikaans: “Die AGS – Die Apostoliese Geloofsending“), has been in existence since 25 May 1908 and is celebrating its 114th birthday anniversary with a nationwide campaign to show off the AFM Church logo. Wednesday, 25 May 2022 is our AFM Logo Day. We call on all AFM churches and members to participate by displaying the Church logo everywhere on all social media platforms as a unifying symbol.

The AFM of SA Church was birthed out of the Azusa Street Pentecostal awakening of 1906 through two primary missionaries, John G. Lake and Thomas Hezmalhalch - believed to be the first Pentecostal missionaries to South Africa. The AFM has existed since 1908 and is the first and largest Pentecostal church in the country – with 1.4 million members in SA as per the 2001 census and currently established in more than 28 countries. The AFM has 2,532 pastors, including 335 women ordained pastors and 1,721 registered local assemblies in all 9 provinces of South Africa.

“Pentecostal” means that it is a church that believes that the Spirit of God is given to believers to live active and overcoming lives. It implies that believers can demonstrate the character, love and power of their Lord, Jesus Christ, in their daily lives.

Our AFM Logo - Pentecostal Identity and Heritage

As far as the history of the AFM is concerned, the cross and crown were used from the very beginning. John G. Lake was probably the first to use the symbol to indicate his message and work. The official magazine of The AFM, known as The Comforter used it on its front page from 1913. Older members of The AFM associated the cross and crown with the slogan, ‘No cross, no crown’. The AFM logo probably has its roots in the symbols of the Zionist- and Holiness movements.

In 1984 The AFM requested the South Africa Bureau of Heraldry to register the cross and crown as the official coat of arms. The Bureau of Heraldry provided a design and advice service, with particular emphasis on the coat of arms. They received an objection in answer to its advertisement from a Church in the Apostle tradition in America, that the proposed coat of arms of The AFM was too similar to theirs. The director of The Bureau of Heraldry suggested that the cross be used with rays from the sun, and the coat of arms was registered eventually with the sun and rays behind the cross.

AFM Logo Day Participation

The AFM Logo Day campaign creates logo awareness, identity and brand positioning. It aims at broader membership participation building further involvement and enthusiasm.
