L'Agulhas is the most southern coastal village and holiday resort in South Africa, located within the Cape Agulhas Local Municipality at the southernmost tip of the African mainland. It is situated next to the town of Struisbaai and about 30 kilometres (20 mi) south of the regional centre of Bredasdorp. The name "Agulhas", Portuguese for "needles", is said to have been given to the cape because the compass-needle was seen to point due north, that is, with no magnetic deviation. The Agulhas Bank is reputed to be the richest fishing area in the Southern Hemisphere.[2] Some of the older residents and documents refer to the town as by its former name Cape Agulhas or Cape L'Agulhas or simply Agulhas which were the names that referred to this town before it was changed to L'Agulhas.

Breakfast stop in Barrydale. What a cozy place. Definitely going to be a regular pit stop when enroute to the Garden Route
Started the day off with a tour of Heralds Bay. Named after the first Dutch Reformed minister of George, Tobias Johannes Herold (1812-1823). A charming coastal village. The Roman Catholic Church in the Bay named Stella Maris meaning 'Star Of The Sea' Then off to Mosselbay. First named Bahia or Aquada Sao Bras (Watering Place of Saint Blaize) by Vasco da Gama in 1497.
First we visited the Wilderness. Then the town of Sedgefield. It is a lovely seaside village that is entirely surrounded by lakes and sand dunes covered in fynbos. It lies in the heart of what is known as South Africa’s Lakes District and is well known for its pristine beaches, water sports and paragliding. Then popped in at Knysna. Place of wood. Abundance of forests and fynbos. Plettenberg Bay was our next destination. Iconic beach town known for magnificent beaches and it is a surfers paradise. And finally Bloukrans Bridge for bungy jumping. This is a 3 day trip turned into 1 fun packed day. Absolutely awesome day.
Based Hotel Golf & Spa. Toured The 4th Longest Showcase Tour Cave In The World Namely The Cango Caves It was originally thought to be only about 1km long, but the caves have been discovered to extend naturally for well over 5km - however it could be even longer, larger and more mysterious than current estimates. You can visit approximately one-quarter of the entire 5km system of interlinking tunnels. The rest is closed for conservation purposes.
