I serve as the Chairperson for the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Association of South Africa’s (CBTASA) ACADEMY congress. I would like to extend a warm invitation to all of you to block your calendars from 30 August 2024 to 1 September 2024. During this time, we are thrilled to host our inaugural conference at the UCT Graduate Business School in Cape Town.

We are honoured to host the distinguished Judith Beck as our keynote speaker. She is the daughter of the renowned Aaron Beck, often regarded as the founding figure of cognitive behaviour therapy. Additionally, we are privileged to welcome Dr Lata McGinn, a tenured Professor of Psychology and the Director of the CBT training program at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, along with several other esteemed experts in the field.

Our congress will feature a comprehensive training component, offering attendees the opportunity to obtain a Certificate of Attendance (CoA) for the entire conference and, if desired, for specific workshops conducted by CBT specialists. This training can be a significant step in your professional journey towards certification, spanning the three generations of CBT. Naturally, we will also have a robust scientific research segment.

Please take a moment to reserve these dates in your calendars. We will notify you promptly once registration for the congress becomes available. The submission period for abstracts is scheduled to open in early 2024.
