BlackMagic Design has announced Blackmagic Camera for Android 1.1, which adds support for HDMI monitoring so you can view a larger image of what you’re filming. This means you get a better view of your scene which helps when checking focus, exposure and composition of your shot, and even watch the recording with multiple monitors so everyone on set can view the footage.

This update also adds pull focus controls to the camera so you can change the focus of the lens during a continuous shot. This allows you to gradually pull focus between 3 preset focus points in the foreground or background, giving you the ability to draw your audience’s attention to different elements and change the emphasis of a scene.

There’s also support for syncing media directly to a Blackmagic Cloud Organisations account, which allows you to select between syncing media to your personal account or your company’s organisations account when logging on, speeding up your workflow.

In addition, you now have the ability to dim the screen while recording, apply noise reduction or sharpening to the recorded image and use 3D LUTS while recording and monitoring.

BlackMagic Design has released HyperDeck 8.4.1 which adds support for HyperDeck Shuttle HD to record directly to network storage. This means any editing system can just log into the network storage and access all the media in the one location. DaVinci Resolve 19 can even edit the media while it's being recorded! This update also adds a range of performance and stability improvements for all HyperDeck Studio models.

Today Blackmagic announced Blackmagic Cloud Live Sync, a new feature of Blackmagic Cloud storage that allows a camera to sync media into a DaVinci Resolve bin while the camera is recording. Within seconds editors and colourists in post production facilities can see media arriving in real time and start editing and grading, even while the camera continues to record. This is a revolution in broadcast workflows where post productions artists can see and work with media, seconds after it's been recorded in a camera, from any location globally.

The secret to Blackmagic Cloud live sync is the ability of the latest Blackmagic cameras, such as the Cinema Camera 6K, PYXIS, URSA Cine and URSA Broadcast G2, to record a full resolution HD proxy in H.264. These files are live synced to Blackmagic Cloud as they are recorded, and then also live synced down to all DaVinci Resolve workstations that are connected to the same cloud project. All you need to do is connect to the project. It is all automatic!

The new Blackmagic Cloud live sync feature will be public beta in mid June as a free download for Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K and Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, with updates for all cameras coming shortly after. This update to Blackmagic Cloud will be included free with current Blackmagic Cloud media sync plans. There will be no additional costs.

Today Blackmagic announced the Blackmagic Camera 1.4 update which adds support for organisations in Blackmagic Cloud. This means that if you are a member of an organisation on Blackmagic Cloud and you are added to a project, you can login and sync camera recordings automatically to the project library.

This update also adds support for 2.76:1 frame guides, as well as adding frame guides to the HDMI monitoring output. You can also now customise the opacity when using grid overlays, making it easier to see grids for aligning shots when shooting horizontally or vertically. In addition, support for off speed recording has been added which means that you can select to record at 50fps and playback at 25fps, and your clips will naturally playback in slow motion.

Blackmagic Camera 1.4 update also corrects the image preview when using the anamorphic de-squeeze option, as well as improving audio input recording when an incoming call is received.

Blackmagic Design has released the Blackmagic Cloud Store 1.2 update which adds support for user authentication to Blackmagic Cloud Store and Cloud Store Mini. This provides greater security by offering administrator controlled access to read, write and edit privileges through secure user logins. This update also includes better syncing to Dropbox, displaying a warning when files will exceed the Dropbox size limit, as well as improved sync speed to Google Drive accounts.

They also announced a new 16TB model of their popular Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini network storage solution. In addition to increased storage, it features a high speed 10G Ethernet connection and four internal M.2 flash memory cards operating in parallel RAID 0 for extremely fast file access. With Dropbox and Google Drive live sync, files can be distributed between multiple units globally, for very fast local file access, even on lower cost internet connections.
