RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING DESIGN

Residential lighting plays a crucial role in creating a comfortable and functional living environment.

This beautiful home in Somerset West was a collaborative project between and lighting designer .

The balance of architectural aesthetics blended seamlessly with this carefully considered lighting design.

Straight lines were accentuated by using our FLUA Luna Magnetic track system, while groupings of both recessed and surface mounted downlights created warm pools of light which enhanced interior elements such as the wooden floors.
Indirect LED bulkhead lighting provided soft practical illumination, which was another layout of the overall design.

Selective decorative lighting elements further elevated the interior of the space by adding visual interest and texture to the overall lighting concept.

With a knack for expertly lighting commercial spaces our very own CEO has carefully designed and supplied the lighting for the new port cochere - Vergelegen.

We love the juxtaposition of the new lighting against the fairly dark backdrop in these pics as it really does show off the carefully considered detail which goes into a lighting design like this.

Architectural planes have been well considered, but so has the limitations and expectations of the lighting been considered.
It's modern, clean, functional and technical, and what is achieved is an overall design which is fit for purpose.

Design Concept – The clean, off-shutter concrete aesthetic is maintained with minimal intrusion from overpowering light fixtures. The architect has cleverly incorporated strategic bulkheads and shadow lines to seamlessly integrate hidden light sources. By using the appropriate LEDs, this design achieves both functionality and ambiance, ensuring the space is well-lit without compromising its sleek, modern look.

Art lighting is specialised field dedicated to the optimal illumination of artwork, ensuring that pieces are displayed to their best advantage while preserving their integrity.

Proper art lighting involves the strategic placement and selection of light sources to highlight the colours, textures, and details of art pieces without causing damage.

This often includes using track lighting and adjustable spotlights to create a balanced and flattering light that enhances the viewers experience while maintaining the artwork's longevity, considering factors like colour temperature, intensity, and beam angle to suit different types of art.

This beautiful home combined art with highly decorative lighting pieces to complete their design aesthetic which was both classic and bold.

NEW OFFICE ALERT - CAPAGO VISA CPT AND JHB
We revel in every part of the lighting design process, from planning to specification, to supply.
It's always great to see where a project started, and then the end result.

The new CAPAGO VISA OFFICES were done in collaboration with where we supplied both functional workspace lighting and decorative lighting elements, which brought a quirky design edge to the space.

INDULGENT OPULENCE - CLARA ANNA FONTEIN
We loved that no detail was spared when creating this ultra luxurious home.
Each surface and texture, from the floors to the walls to the joinery was selected to work in harmony and be and inviting.
Each fabric was also selected for the custom made furniture pieces and was original and visually interesting.

The lighting was warm to match this gorgeous interior.
Led was used on both feature staircases which provided a necessary lighting link between ground and the first floor.

Highly decorative crystal chandeliers and pendants added a touch of sparkle and glam and worked so well with the interior design aesthetic.
This was also carried through into the selection of crystal wall lights which were strategically placed throughout the home for a sense of continuity of the lighting concept.

The final picture was one of beauty and elegance, curated by the wonderful .

NEW STORE ALERT - WINDHOEK
The cutest store opening in partnership with

LED linear lights were strategically placed to provide the correct retail lighting levels and also to allow the custom paw print feature light to shine.

As a pet loving company this was such a special project to be involved in 🐶🐱

MONDAY INSPO - RETAIL LIGHTING
FIELDS is a menswear brand for the multifaceted man. it is thoughtful, environmentally friendly, and is designed to be timeless.

The lighting design was developed with the same approach.
The use of the strategically placed recessed LED Linear lights provide an interior aesthetic detailing while remaining highly functional.

These same Linears are efficient in that their power consumption is low but light output high, therefore making them the correct choice for a brand conscious about the environment.

LED was used strategically on all plains - horizontal, vertical and curved, to be timeless in that it elegantly accentuated the joinery elements while at the same time providing the correct levels and colour temperature of light suitable for both the brand and product.

NEW STORE ALERT - FLM CASTLE GATE
We are thrilled to have been part of a collaboration with for their new store in Erasmus Park in Pretoria.

The 3500sqm store offers an enhanced shopping experience which is both practical, experiential and fun, and the lighting design was developed to suit.

The use of LED linear lights in various configurations allowed us to ensure that the correct lighting levels were reached for product displays, while also maintaining visual interest.

The store is both bright and yet remains inviting due to the correct use and balance of various lighting colour temperatures.

MONDAY INSPO - THE THREE MONKEYS - HARARE
The perfect ambience for a restaurant relies on the carefully curated mix of colours, textures and lighting, and
The Three Monkeys Restaurant Project in Harare - Namibia, is a perfect example of this.

The use of warm wood tones, lively wallpaper and hanging greenery, coupled with the strategic use of concealed LED and 'fit for purpose' decorative pendants is the perfect mix for this exciting restaurant concept.

ON SITE DESIGN PROGRESS
We have been so privileged to have been part of this project from the start, and love watching each phase develop individually, and yet work so seamlessly with the one that came before.

There is a carefully considered mix of natural materials used throughout the project and the lighting needed to be not only functional but also work with the architects canvass aesthetically.

The light fittings were simple in form, selected in both black and white to suit, and were then placed carefully to fulfill their purpose, but also to create visual interest.
We especially love seeing how the Formulia pendants look when grouped left of centre of the reception desk.

We cannot wait to see what the completed design looks like!

We were inspired by our fantastic clients to create a lighting design that seamlessly blends modern and classic styles for this stunning property. Utilising our versatile magnetic track lights, which beautifully contrasted with the black window frames, along with custom lanterns outside, we achieved a well-coordinated and elegant look.
